Does anyone have an suggestions as to what a good mix of greens would be to give my bunny each day everyday? Along with a few added things every now and then just for a change for him i guess….i just would prefer to buy the same thing every week and feed him it everyday then switching what i give him every week, its less for me to worry about if i just have the same thing to give him everyday, with a mix every now and then. What is it that some of you give your buns everyday for there greens diet? I work best with things when i have a schedule, that is why i am asking so its less for me to worry about during the week when im working everyday.

I give my bunnies dandelion greens almost every day, it’s not high in oxalates so it’s one of the veggies that can be given all the time. I usually do rotate the other veggies that I add to their salads though. Here’s a link that tells you which greens are okay to feed a lot of: https://binkybunny.com/BUNNYINFO/VeggieList/tabid/144/Default.aspx ![]()
Mine get kale, lettuce, parsley, cilantro and spinach. The parsley and spinach are high oxalics so I don’t give those daily, more like 1-2 times per week for each. Sometimes I will buy bok choy, or turnip greens or some other herbs if they have them at the store. Dandelion greens they get when they are in season, they grow in my yard (no pesticides, no other pets and I wash them first). For their fruit, apple, banana, pineapple or craisins. Sometimes I buy spring mixes, if I don’t have time to prep their salads or I am in a rush at the store…. and yes the entire bottom section of my fridge is devoted to bunnies. o.O
Chacha gets on a daily basis:
Romaine
Green Leaf
Italian Parsley
Cilantro (She always takes the Cilantro and footflicks away with it in her mouth)
Belgian Endive
Arugula (I just introduced it today with mixed feelings from her)
Dandelion Greens (if I can find it at the Asian market)
She gets a pot of wheat grass at times, if I have enough pots growing.
Parsley gets;
spinach, rocket, lettuce (dark leafed), nasturtium, grass, parsley and cauliflower leaves and broccoli every few days
basically whats growing in my garden as its easier, and i supplement with other bought greens for treats every few days
plus raisins or banana treats at bedtime…he will do ANYTHING for raisins or banana lol
Since we’ve only had BonBon for a short time, we are still trying out different things.
But right now she is getting red or green leaf lettuce, romaine, green pepper, and carrot or celery daily.
She is also enjoying some herbs from the garden (mainly parsely and mint, but will have ample basil, cilantro, dill and oregano soon) as well as fresh dandelions and clover from the yard.
As for treats she seems to really enjoy craisins and bananna.![]()
She’ll also get to try out some less common things from our yard and garden as the year progresses.
Cinnabun gets dandelion greens daily plus cilantro and parsley. Sometimes I use kale instead of parsley to keep it interesting but she loves cilantro so I try to always have that for her. She’s really not fond of : mustard greens, basil, or mint (anything with a strong taste apparently). Cinnabun will do anything for a raisin or cranberry, she also enjoys apples. I tried to give her a little bit of banana one time and she was very uninterested.
my rabbits get. Romaine lettuce, grean leaf or red leaf, cilontro or parsley, and boc choy or kale or collard greans. I tend to have to have two different shoping lists and swich every week

Oh yeah, Chacha bun does not like banana either. Give her a dried piece of banana, and she’ll snatch it! What in the world?
Raisins/Craisins are a staple. There is always a bag in the house. I give my bun one a day, and cut it up into small pieces, so she thinks I am giving her a lot, but it is just one raisin ![]()

Ooooh. I never thought about cutting up the raisin. She gets one and then stands there staring at me like “Slave. Where is the next one? I require many of these tasties”
I have one bunny who is picky and also has a sensitive tummy, so I just buy romaine and/or leaf lettuce, plus parsley ever week. The romaine usually comes in large heads that last a long time, so I like them. Parsley is a favorite so I add a small handful of those.
That’s really it. If I have another veggie for the humans, I’ll save a little for the non-picky bun, but otherwise that’s what they get.
Tait & Nate always have lettuce (Romaine, Green Leaf or Red Leaf) and I will usually mix in Spinach, Arugula, Dandelion Greens into that on a rotating basis. They also always get Baby Bok Choy, Cilantro, Kale. Parsley, Mint, Basil, Oregano, Carrots, Carrot Tops, etc. are given on a smaller scale usually depending on whats on sale/ good quality at the time
I live in Northern BC, so getting decent produce in the winter is really hit or miss. I’ve been slowly expanding their veggie selection since I’ve had Nate, he will eat ANYTHING you put in front of him, so if Tait snubs it then it won’t go to waste haha.
Treat wise, I make my own baked biscuits (that they LOVVEEE) and fresh/dried fruit, but they don’t get much.
I almost always have kale, romaine or leaf lettuce, cilantro and parsley for my bunnies. When I can grow my own or find it fresh, I have carrot tops and dandelion greens for them. I also sometimes buy bags of mixed baby greens and lettuces. I sometimes give them broccoli or turnip greens. They don’t like spinach. One of my bunnies likes the mint that I grow, but the other doesn’t. I also grow lemon balm for them. They get a little bit of apple each day, a baby carrot, and usally a bite of banana, since my husband eats one every day.
I usually rotate with the following greens:
– Kale (lasts a long time in the fridge, and it’s Zeus’s favorite)
– Cilantro
– Romaine
– Collard greens
– Red leaf lettuce (only occasionally, as it wilts really fast it seems)
Usually he gets a combination of two of those, maybe three. I don’t go through them fast enough to keep more than that on hand at once, they wilt and it’s wasteful to throw them out. I’m hoping once I live in a house I can grow some greens so that will help offer more of a variety each day. ![]()
Thank you some much everyone….it seams that i am doing things right with my bun then! =]]]
