Hi all. Since school is now out and I need to get some sort of 8hr/day job, I’ve been wondering what to do with Cinnabun. Normally, when school is in session and I have to be on campus for no more than 2 hours, she goes into her nice sized cage. Her Xpen is attached to her cage and I used to leave her out in that all day until I discovered she was jumping on top of her cage and then on to my desk (and eating my computer wires) when I wasn’t home. For the few hours that I am in class, leaving her in her cage isn’t a big deal but for an 8 hour job, I really (really really really really) don’t want to do that. I’ve been thinking of some sort of top for the Xpen, like a sheet with clothespins that prevent her from jumping on top of the cage and then out. Here are a few issues: 1) how likely is it that she’ll be able to jump on top of the sheet? 2) Should the clothespins be outside the Xpen so that she can’t chew on them/release them? 3) Now that it’s summer will covering part of her pen be hotter? The AC vent is above the area that would not be covered but I worry that if she goes into her cage, it will be too hot in there.
Some specifics: Her Xpen is about 2 feet high. She can’t get out of it unless she jumps on top her cage.
Any suggestions?? Thanks all.
