The bottle might be to low for him to drink out of it comfortably another way. I’d personally use a heavy bowl, flemmies as they get big can drink a ton of water, and can’t get it out of the bottle fast enough usually.

That looks uncomfortable. I would switch to a water bowl asap.

My bun likes his bottle up higher, looks like he’s trying to get an easier angle out of the bottle. But yes a bowl is better for buns, especially big ones, Powder has to drink for like 5 minutes straight to get the water he wants.

I’ll fourth the bowl, Lady can drain about a cup in just a few minutes.

I agree, lose the bottle, or raise it up much, much higher. I position my 4-6 pound bunnies’ spout at least 18 inches up. They need to sit up straight or stand to reach the spout. They also have a water bottle at all times.

I know this isn’t the topic, but that cage is within a larger pen, right?

that cage was just a temp one while I am building his pen. Kind of like the other one I built for my other two rabbits. most of the time he has run of the family room and is only in that cage overnight for another day. should have the otherone finished today. and I agree I’ll try the water bowl.

I use the small dog/cat waterer with the reservoir bottle attached. They come in various sizes. The weight of the water holds it’s self in place.

Yeah, there have been times where I’ve had to temporarily keep my rabbits in habitats too small while I wait for materials to build them something bigger. It sucks, but sometimes it’s just the way things work out. I bet he’ll be super happy when he upgrades !
