I have a bonded pair that I tried to get my single (male) lop to bond with. The males were not having it. I now have a female Lionhead and I am getting a Holland Lop next week (female). I want to put single male lop with the two girls. Is it best to introduce all 3 at the same time?

Thanks for passing along that thread, LPT.

Being that no one is bonded to anyone, I wonder if it would be best to introduce and bond say, the girls first, then work my boy in? Or introduce and try to bond them all together?!

So is noone bonded or the 2 girls are bonded? I’m confused.

No, no one is bonded. I have 3 single bunnies (or will have, have not gotten the 3rd yet). Sorry to be confusing.

So you have 5 bunnies? 2 bonded and 2 soon to be 3 singles?

Have you thought about taking your current bunnies on dates? That way they can pick out their buddy instead?

Yes, I have a bonded m/f pair. We did bunny dates with my Smudge and I think it sort of “ruined” him. He use to be a very laid back bunny and after 3 different dates with 3 different females (whom he all liked, but they did not like him. Hence they ended in some sort of squabble, with Smudge getting bit) he now is very defensive. If that makes any sense. My girl I hand raised from 3 days old, so she is staying. The other girl I am getting from a friend of a friend who can’t keep her. So, I prefer to bond the 3 of them.

If I had the room to house 4 bonded pairs, I would. But I don’t, so I have make it work with the 5 I have.

Ahhh I see. You’ve got your hands full! Everyone is altered right?
Have you introduced Smudge to your lionhead at all yet?

Everyone will be altered before introductions. I am just trying to figure it all out now, before I do the actual intro’s. Getting my bunnies, I mean ducks in a row

I did introduce my Lionhead and Smudge. She loved him and the intro’s went well. But I backed off of that when I found out about the female lop that needs a home.

Here we are almost 3 months later. I have 1 male lop, 1 female lionhead and 1 female lop. All altered. I would love to have all 3 eventually bond, but really unsure how (best) to go about it. I am thinking I should introduce the girls first and then work in my boy. But then I have read if the girls get along, they may not accept another bunny as easily. Do you all suggest I introduce and work on the bond as a trio? Thanks!

Best way I think would be to bond the most dominant of the 3 with the least dominant, then bond the middle bun to the most submissive. Then the top 2 buns. Complicated, but works
