I swear, it is like I have a sixth sense when it comes to Nova doing something she isn’t supposed to do. For the last couple of days (about a week now?) she has been out with no lock-up time. It seemed like everything was going perfectly! Well this morning I knew I was going to have to get up early for class, but about 10 minutes before my alarm went off I woke up, and imediately sat up and looked over the end of my bed. Nova, the little brat (not first choice of word…), was pulling up the carpet!!! She must have just started because hardly any was pulled up. So she got locked up while I went to class. Lucky for her the class ended early today. It looks as though that is the only part of my room that is not protected by a rubber baseboard. It is cut to get around the door, hence why it is not protected. So I just put some electrical tape over the spot. It actuallly blends in with the black baseboard pretty well, and I am hoping that is the end of our problems. Unfortunately it means that she is back to semi-supervised out time, and she will be locked up again tomorrow when I have class again until I know for sure she won’t go back for that spot. I also need to get her some other digging/chewing projects. The location of her spot means I can’t put anything where it is (it would cause problems opening and closing the door), but hopefully more enrichment will keep her busy doing other things.
I guess later I will get some paper bags at the store to make things she can rip appart. I don’t know where I am going to get a phone book on a college campus… I will figure out things for her to do. Time to play zookeeper!
