So I have to bring Blossom to the vet tomorrow to have her eye checked and a overall checkup.  Also to get her nails clipped.  I dread getting her into the carrier she hates that thing and freaks out while she is in it.  Wish me luck!!

Good luck! I get that feeling too. And I’m still getting to know my vet (even though she comes with recommendations from local bunny sanctuary) so I get nervous about the whole thing. lol

Did you bring out the carrier into her area tonight? That’s what I’m going to try next time so he’ll be all nervous about getting in it tonight and by tomorrow he’ll forget about it. lol

Good luck! Maybe before the next time you have to take her to the vet you can just keep her crate out and feed her in it for like a week or two before the visit. That way she will associate the crate with good things!

Haha! Wooly thumps and throws a fit if he sees me bring the carrier into their room. He knows what that evil carrier means. Funny though. After all the fuss of getting him into the carrier and taking him to the vet, once he’s there he acts like a little angel. I figure he is just scared stiff because he knows where he is. The vet often looks at me like I crazy when I say he was putting up such a fight for this or that. The vet will just do whatever to him and he will just sit there. *sigh*

Well Blossom did awsome.  She didnt bite!!  She just sat there and let them examine her.  Her eye was red so they prescribed medicine for conjuntivitis.  Which she has no goo comming out but thats what the dr felt it was.  They showed me how to clip her nails.  Throw a blanket over her and pull one paw out at a time.  She struggled for only two seconds and sat still so lets hope she is that good for me!!   Her teeth are good and even though she tends to itch alot they felt she had no fleas or mites.  Now she is mad and hiding in her hiding spot in the family room and won’t come out for me!!  Now lets hope I can get the ointment into her eye!!.

Sounds like it went well! That’s great. Eye ointment – that should be fun :~) Is it a like a gel ointment or a liquid ointment? If it’s a gel, it can be a bit easier since you don’t have to put it directly on her eye but close and it will creep into the eye.

Glad it went well. What I do to get the buns to be OK with the carrier is every few weeks, I bring it out, put it on the floor and put a treat in it. Not going anywhere. They go in, get their treat, then they can come out if they want to or hang out in it like a den. When I bring out the carrier for a vet visit, they both go right into it with no fight as soon as they see it cause carrier = treat to them.

When we do Momo’s nails, we wrap her in a towel and make a bunny burrito. Then slip one paw out at a time to cut.
