You should definatly still try to litter train him! It’s 1000000% possible! But you should get Buster fixeed to. Are you plannng too? And maybe clean it every 2 days… It’s better, but 3 days IS fine

i usually change wesley’s litter every two days. if you’re trying to train him before he’s fixed, i’d recommend leaving a bit of the used litter in the box when you change it. it helps them get the idea. wesley got pretty good even before he was neutered – but once intact males mature they will start spraying, and then your work is for nothing

He can definatley be trained  before he is neutered. I think it is better to do it as soon as possible so he doesn’t start developing bad habits that will be harder to break the longer you wait. Even if he is littertrained he may still spray to mark his territory until you get him neutered, but it depends on how old he is.

It depends on how much he poops/pees and what type of litter you are using in regards to how often you change it. I made a screen for the litter box, so now I don’t have to change it as often. The poops sit on top, and I scoop those out and throw them away. and then the pee under the screen gets scooped out every couple days and replaced with fresh litter. I only really give the whole box a cleaning once a week. I am totally in love with the screens for the litterbox! they help to save a lot of litter! BinkyBunny sells them at the online store, but I needed mine that very day and couldn’t wait for shipping, cuz I couldn’t let Molly keep me up even one more night with her digging obsession of the litterbox, so i made my own  lol

Peter was trained and he’s not neutured, so it’s deff possible! I change and wash his litterbox every 2 days. I use Carefresh or litter pellets – both are great!

Litter training isn’t really “training” – it’s mostly just setting up their environment so they’re most likely to go where you want them to do. Generally they do the rest. Since he’s not fixed he’s more likely to mark his territory outside of the litter box, but that doesn’t meant he can’t use it most of the time. Take any bedding out of the cage and only put litter in the litter box so he understands where he’s supposed to go, then put hay in the litter box.

Changing the litter box every 3-4 days is sufficient except for certain bunnies who are very picky and always need a clean box. I have multiple boxes and only clean about once a week – I pile clean hay on top every day so the surface they sit on is nice and dry.
