That’s so interesting, though I’m sorry it’s been causing her distress. In a way it is good news since it’s not a tumor and antibios. will keep her from getting any worse.

I had the idea that perhaps you could take close up pix of her face at different angles now and store them in a file. That way if in a year, for example, you think it may be larger or changed shape in some way, you can have your own reference images. The vet has the CT scans, but instead of putting her through that again you might be able to take similar pix and compare. It’s cheaper. And we tend to forget how things look different over time when it’s gradual day to day.
I have high hopes for her now.

Thanks for the update. I do wonder if this is more of a problem in our rabbits than we know. I don’t think many of us do CAT scans on our rabbits so it just may be that is more of a problem than we know.

Do you think nebulizing would help clear her airways? I’ve nebulized some of my rabbits in the past to help medicate them but maybe it would be good to help soften the mucous and clear the airways.

This is very interesting. Did your vet comment at all about how common this is? (at least in her experience). Its good that they may be able to figure out the best antibiotic once the culture comes back.

You can nebulize her by putting her in a box – I used one of those big plastic containers and cut a hole in the side to put the nebulizer nozzle and put my rabbit in the box – it sounds cruel, but it was a big box and I put a towel at the bottom for the bunny to dig at…I know the mask would be hard to put on bunny. I’ll have to see if I can still find the link to the nebulizer box.

And I hear you about the nose drops – I’ve only done this once with a friend’s rabbit that I bunnysat because he needed medicating – it sure helped him but it was not pleasant to do.
