She thought I was like, dying lol. She examined it (She studies bugs, thank goodness!) And told me it was a bedbug… but she was joking!!!!!!!! I LITERALLY WAS CALLING MY FRIEND TO SEE IF I COULD MOVE IN WITH HER It was just a little black water bug. HAs anyone had an experiance like this? My heart is still pounding! lol

We kept having carpenter ants in the bed. They were living in our big oak tree. The tree hangs over our house. I guess the ants were dropping onto the roof and finding a way into the attic. They would then find their way to the electrical box for the ceiling fan and they would pop out the little groove in the metal base for the ceiling fan. Then they would crawl around on the ceiling and eventually drop down into the bed. I woke up several times with an ant crawling on me. Ack! We have since treated the tree and cut the the branches back.

So your mom is an entomologist? I have a pair of bug earrings I like to wear and for some reason this person at work is convinced I study entomology.

LBJ10: EEP! we once had an ant problem. :/
And she isn’t excactly a entomologist. She just studies them in her free time. (I guess that is a entomologist!) Lol. She is actually a registered nurse. My dad is a doctor and he also does carpenter work.

After watching an old black and white episode of Twilight Zone (I think that was what it was) about earwigs, I found a silverfish on the wall near my bed. I slept on the couch for a while… a really long while…

Haha! You’re silly! That’s a myth about the earwigs anyway. =p

When I was 12 It was the first night at our new house and I woke up in the middle of the night and there was a large Wolfspider on my pillow about 6 inches from my face. I was not into spiders then so it kind of freaked me out and I woke up my mom to take outside for me .  Since my bedroom screen has a large gap at the top and I like to leave my window open in the summer I get a lot of bugs in my bed/room but now that I am older and have done a lot of resherch on insects I just leave them be except the Black Widows. I only leave Black Widows in the house if they are out of the way and unlikly to come into contact with my pets.

Wolf spiders will bite, but they aren’t all that poisonous, at least not the north american ones. Either way…. I see a spider, it gets smashed.

I have terrible experiences with cockroaches…like I have had all out battles with them! Once there was one in my bathroom, and when I saw it it ran behind the sink. So I turned off the light and waited…and waited….and waited….until it finally came back out..then BAM!!! GOT HIM!! haha

Another time I was reading a book on my bed and there was one on my floor, so I hurried up and killed it. Well before I got a napkin to pick it up, I wanted to finished the last couple sentences of the chapter. But out of the corner of my eye, HALF OF A COCKROACH IS CRAWLING TOWARD MY BED!!!!!!!!!! I FREAKED!!

Then one time I was in the bathroom and I was in my barefeet, then I look down and see a centipede crawling between my toes!!!   I killed it and it smelled as bad as a stink bug! I live in the woods, we get all kinds of weird bugs around, it sucks.

Also had a huge praying mantis fly in my hair. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but it was so big I thought it was a bird!!

I was unpacking some sunglasses at work once. They were inside little packages, inside a larger box. I picked up one of the packages as I had neared the bottom of the box and a GIANT roach came scrabbling out. He was bouncing around in the box, trying to get out. I let out a little “eep” because it startled me and customers were staring. Haha! I waited for him to crawl under the flap in the bottom of the box and then I smashed him under there. Then I hauled the box over to the box crusher and left it there as a little surprise for the guys working on the loading dock.

I’m not that freaked out by bugs… if I see a spider, I capture it and move it outside, same with scorpions (though when I did that, my mother yelled at me cause she was scared it was poisonous lol), roaches, etc. I grew up in Florida and bugs in the bed weren’t that uncommon, due to the doggy door letting them in the house. I see no reason to hurt something that can’t hurt me. Now, the two snakes that crawled into our house through the doggy door freaked me out … and I will never have a doggy door again because of it, even if I get dogs again. o.O

I don’t mind bugs…its just cockroaches, centipedes, and stinkbugs that I can’t stand. Anything else I will either leave it go or move outside.
