My niece in London said season 2 of Sherlock has aired and they are starting to film season 3 to be aired in 2013.

Meanwhile, the link a friend of hers posted to be able to watch it on my computer didn’t work after I spent about 2 hours trying last week.

Anyone know where or how I can watch them, or do I have to wait until it swims across the pond to my local PBS station? Season 1 is rerunning after Downton Abbey here, but I own it and have seen it several times.

Is this the one with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman? I saw the first season and was in love!

I don’t know how to get it, unfortunately. My British co-worker went to visit his dad in October and saw season 2 of Downton airing at that time, so it seems like they are running 3 months behind. Maybe they’ll air season 2 right after they re-air season 1? Let me know what you find out!

Oh, I just found a date! It’s going to air starting May 6th. Sorry that’s so long to wait 🙁

I looked over the Masterpiece schedule and I’m super excited for some of the Dickens stuff they’re airing that I’ve never seen.

              May 6th Woo hoo!

Stickerbunny has very kindly emailed me a program and links to try to DL it, but I am afraid my laptop might not like that many bytes. If I could DL it to a disc but that gets a bit dicey. I am trying it now, so will see if it quits with a No More Room message. If not, I’ll get to watch it now.

Yes, it’s the one you mentioned. I have loved SH since I was 14 when I read all the stories and drew portraits of Basil Rathbone. Then taped the series with Jeremy Brett. But this may be my favorite because the writers/producers (one of them plays Mycroft) are huge fans, and decided to write this modern day version. Other movies have tried, but they did an amazing job.
Best part is that all the Watsons have been either too dumb or too drawing room British, and Martin Freeman is the first truly believable Watson I’ve seen in a very long time. He makes him intelligent and so normal. His acting is so nuanced that it’s partly his own delivery that works so well. I always loved Sherlock, but this is the first Watson that made me take a second look.

The second season was really incredible! I thought the first one was great already, but the second…wow! There are various streaming links of dubious legality that I can point you to if you’re interested, haha. Agreed on Watson – his acting is a big part of why I enjoy the show. Did you know Freeman is playing Bilbo in the upcoming Hobbit film? Also, Cumberbatch is supposed to be doing voiceover/motion capture for Smaug, so it’ll be Watson vs. Sherlock at the end, I guess .

Well whatever you do, don’t visit any british forums where they might be discussing the conclusion, despite spoiler warnings….that was my mistake because I’m simply too damn curious for my own good and now what was seen cannot be unseen.

(I am really enjoying Downton with my daughter who is totally into it. She’s my Jane Austen girl and has a mindset that would’ve flourished in those time periods.)

Am absolutely dying to know how that poolside scene resolved…if they’re even going to pick up from there!

Although I have a big love/hate relationship regarding Steven Moffat, and how he’s buggered Dr. Who, for the sake of Sherlock, I try to give him the benefit of the doubt that this season will be as epic as the first.

                    WOO HOO!!!
I’m watching the first episode of Season 2 right here right now! The DL process that Stickerbunny gave me worked.

Bye you guys. See you in a few hours/days. Getting a Sherlock fix. ahhhh.

Lucky! We’ll see if I can hold out. I do love watching my Masterpiece shows on Monday evenings on the big tv.

I agree that Martin Freeman really makes the show. The Watson’s I’ve seen were so bumbling while Freeman’s Watson is intelligent and real. I love the relationship between him and Sherlock especially – Sherlock is a huge pain but Watson has real affection for him when he doesn’t want to strange him 😛

Mimz, you reminded me that I need to watch Dr Who! I’ve heard so many good things lately.

If anyone else is interested, I can give you the link to get season 2, just don’t want to post it on here as technically those of us in the U.S. aren’t supposed to have it yet. But you can PM me.

MM, no spoiler, but you can assume since there is a season 2 that SH & Dr. W. survive the pool. This episode has a lot of humor in it, especially if you get the references. Boy, did they have fun changing the story titles wherever possible. “The speckled blonde?” Snort, gfaw.

I finished watching it. Thank you Stickerbunny. sigh.

Jeremy Brett’s Watsons were very good and intelligent (Edward Hardwicke and I forget the other’s name) but they still played it true to the stories so it was almost humorless. Their relationship was always snippets in the stories, but it was the glue.

I like what he’s done with Mycroft. He’s pushed out of his chair at the Club, now that he’s lost all that weight, and his character interpretation makes sense. Again, alluded to briefly, but a springboard for what they’ve done with him.

I watched Dr. Who (The curly haired one.) in the 80s when I lived in NYC. I would show up at my friend’s Helen & Steve’s home. We’d all watch it on Saturday mornings with their 4 year old.

You can “actually” read Watson’s blog here: http://www.johnwatsonblog.co.uk/

Kind of cute how they even fixed the hit counter and everything, haha.

Thanks for the link. I had found their websites, like Sherlock’s, last year but I haven’t been back in a while. Did they really lock the counter? That is too funny.
