So there’s a local company that is hiring for a “home typist”. It sounds like it would be the most perfect job for me ever, I’m so excited. I go in tomorrow for the application and a typing test (have to type at least 60wpm, I think I can do that).
I’m so excited and really hope I get the job. It’s actually working for a nursery/florist, and I have experience and education in that industry. I used to work for a research greenhouse, and have taken horticulture classes. So fingers crossed!
Working from home would mean free range bunny time all day!!! ![]()
Sounds like fun! Good luck and keep us updated. What would you be typing? Curious as to what it could be LOL.
Sounds great! Good luck.
I’m a good typist – maybe I need a career change 😛 Let us know how it goes.

I haven’t the slightest idea.
. You wouldn’t think a florist would have THAT much needing to be typed..
.
I’m a little nervous for the typing test, which is so silly to be nervous about. I’m a good typer, I’m on the computer literally all day long, but when I KNOW I’m being tested I get frazzled and make way more mistakes than usual. ![]()
Just remember to take your time. 60wpm isn’t very fast and you can probably go quiet a bit faster than that (try an online typing test to see) – just slow down and focus on correctness over raw time.

Yeah I took a few online typing tests and I average around 80wpm. So I definitely need to take your advice and just slow down to make less mistakes.
That sounds like what I’ve needed to do while job hunting. It sound legitimate too. Where did you find the job posted? Was it via someone you know? (ie. networking.) I see so many scams for home jobs that I am always afraid to pursue them.
Good luck tomorrow!

It was on a local “help wanted” site, which DID have some scams on it, but when I called their HR dept today I knew it was legit. I really wish there was a way to search for work from home positions that were legitimate only. ![]()
they can still nibble your stuff up even if you’re home all day.. they know… they adapt…
Good luck!!! ![]()
Well I think the test went well, they said if they want me to come in for an interview I’ll hear from them within the next week or two. We’ll see! ![]()
we will keep our fingers and bunny ears crossed!

Thanks Mocha! Have you built that cage for your friend yet? I love seeing your architecture! ![]()
Anddd…. I HAVE AN INTERVIEW MONDAY!
So much for “we’ll call you in 2 weeks”. Them calling me back so soon is really encouraging!
The only thing I really need to ask about is I don’t think it’s guaranteed hours.. so I need to figure out if I’m going to have 40 hours one week, then 10 hours the next week. Because that wouldn’t really work for me! Here’s hoping it turns out to be something great. ![]()
Good luck! It sounds like you’re almost there.

Thanks! The prospect of working from home is just so awesome. My parents are in the process of buying horse property right now, and they want me to move back in to basically manage the property.. working from home would mean I could really do both, work full time and manage the horses and acreage.
.
My mom worked from home for years when I was a kid. She did phone book auditing by hand. This was before they relied heavily on computer software. You’ll have to make sure it is steady work because a lot of the time these jobs are on an “as needed” basis.
That’s great!!
i would not be able to pull 60-hour work weeks if i had to commute farther than from the bed to the coffeemaker…
*fingers crossed* This sounds awesome! Even without guaranteed hours you could start to fill your day with by the page typing too!

What do you mean? ![]()
Had the interview today.. it’s not going to work for me. It would be a considerable pay cut, and no benefits.
.
Oh well. My current job is a good one, it just would’ve been really nice to work from home. Maybe another opprotunity will come along eventually.
I’m disappointed. ![]()
That’s to bad. Maybe you will find another opportunity sometime.
I’m sorry. Working from home and actually making money doing it can be very tricky. Hopefully something more promising will come along.
I am sorry
. Maybe something will come by soon.
So when I told them the pay and no benefits wouldn’t work for me, they offered me a few other positions in their company. They’re not work from home, but we’ll see.. they REALLY REALLY are trying to get me interested in their company, so I’m kind of curious what they have to offer. I’ve got an interview with the manager today. We’ll see what happens.
Very cool! Let us know how it goes – it’s nice to know they are interested in you!

Yeah it’s definitely a bit of a confidence boost. ![]()
So I went for the 2nd interview for the office job.. they’re going to meet my current pay, offer benefits, and I’d never have to work weekends or past 5pm during the week.. but they didn’t make me an official offer. They said I should hear back within a few days.. so we’ll see what happens. I hope they make me an offer.. working M-F would be great. Fingers crossed. ![]()
That’s wonderful! Fingers crossed.
