I have succeeded (for the most part) in teaching Molly one trick so far. I have to be close to her for her to respond, but I say KISS and she puts her little nose on mine lol Just curious what others have taught their buns to do I’d love it if you would share ![]()
Lady’s got come and beg down pretty good ![]()
Monkey has “Ignore Mommy” pretty good….
Peppy comes to her name, stands, and spins; Remi stands and jumps when you hold out your arms.
Otto knows how to come when called, sit up, spin in a circle, and give kisses (he licks my nose).
Hannah knows how to come when called and sort of knows how to spin (she’s not fully trained on it yet, but she does it occasionally on her own and I can easily lead her around in a spin)
I’d like to teach them to jump! Otto will jump over my leg if I sit on the floor with one leg out, but we haven’t built any real jumps for them.
I got to test Hannah’s recall today and I was proud of her. She managed to sneak upstairs (the magical carpeted land) and she actually came to me when I called her (with no food) and came back downstairs. She listened better than I thought she would.
Awhhhh that is so cute!!! I want to teach my bunnies that one.
Totoro comes when called. I’ve started clicker training and he has targeting down.
Wilbur is deaf but she knows to jump up onto my lap and put her paws on my chest for a treat, she also knows to go through tunnels or jump over them.

LOL Molly knows that one very well when she is out playing and doesn’t want to be botherd ![]()
I started out clicker training (not with a clicker, cuz the ones the pet store had were super loud and I was afraid they would scare her) but I would make a clicking sound with my tongue. She didn’t seem to respond much but she picked up the voice command for KISS quickly. I guess some buns trains differently than others. Maybe I should try the actual clicker from the store anyway. It just seemed silly to spend $3 dollars when I could make the same sound with my tongue lol
Rei, I would definitely try a real clicker. The sound is just so unique and consistent that it can really work where a voice marker can’t. It’s also a lot faster to click something than to make a sound, so you can mark the exact behavior you want more accurately. I prefer the type of clicker that the BB store sells – you can hold it in your palm and click with any finger, so you can use your hands for more things. The standard clickers only work if you use your thumb and then your clicking hand can’t do anything else.
Rabbit hopping is a really awsome thing to teach your bun I taught it to mine. c=
Yeah the clicker from the pet store is supposed to be used for your thumb. Ok I will check the one out at the BB store thanks! I guess my clicks aren’t very consistent I didn’t think about that
BB is sold out of the clicker…
guess I’ll go to the pet store and get one there so I can start trying to train her asap ![]()
You can find that same clicker other places – maybe not in the pet store, but I’m sure Amazon carries it. You can always get started with a standard clicker and if you get into it you can try the other type. I just find the other type easier when I’m holding a treat, holding the clicker, and doing something with my other hand (like brushing or touching feet, etc)
For some reason my MIL got me a pack of three of them for Christmas to add to the one I already have. Too bad I can’t magically teleport one to you!

HAHAHA well its the thought that counts, right? ![]()
I just click with my tongue. I actually use different click combos to train different things, it seems to work…
Yeah I tried the tongue but she just isn’t responding to it…off to the pet store for a clicker!! ![]()
S&LHuman, I’m curious to how you train with different clicks – can you go into detail?
Generally the click should mark a “good” behavior. Do you use it as a cue instead? I’m always interested in training discussions 🙂
Milo learned spin, paw, and to jump through my arms pretty consistently after about two weeks of training! I did not use a clicker.
Here’s a video =]

Awh! If I had a bunny I would teach it to go ito it cage or carrier on command!
Isn’t that cool? And to hop up on the couch..
I’ve only trained Bunjamin to “wait”. I’m working on him coming to his name when called. He picked up wait faster. Although that’s not really a trick per-say. lol
I say “Gimme kiss” to Sammy, and she puts her face near mine so I can kiss her nose, rather than her giving me a kiss. But it’s still cute and she will come closer if I say it so I can do it.
Milove that’s sooooo cute!
Rabbitpam that’s pretty much what Molly does. I have a video of it I wil have to upload it once I get back to a computer…I’m on a smartphone lol
