        Hi,

I am writing a comparative paper on rabbit housing so I was wondering if you bunny-lovers will take the time to complete this survey. My email is provided if you wish to send me any helpful information about rabbit housing, your rabbit, or your rabbit’s home (example: you switched cages because of _____ or any problems you’ve faced with your rabbit’s home). You can also provide additional information in a response to this post.

I would be happy to complete the survey. I have had problems over the year with rabbit cages!

I would love to provide you with additional information. I used a dog crate when my I purchased my rabbit. I bought that cage thinking she would bond with my male rabbit it didn’t work out they never bonded. My female who used the dog crate she is 6lbs and till you fit everything she needed there wasn’t much room left over. I then switched her to an xpen for rabbits it came with a plastic mat. I loved this mat because it kept all the lose hay and fur in the cage. My rabbit chewed a ton of holes in the bottom and in 6 months I was buying 3 mats and trying to fix the floor. Nothing was working. My other rabbit has an nic cube cage so I decided to build her one. I did and I absolutely love it after trying different cages the NIC Cube cages wins hands down. I put as the floor a plastic dog tray from a dog crate. It didn’t quit fit the whole cage so I bought a straw mat from bunnybytes that is extra large it fit the part where the dog tray didn’t fit and on top of the straw mat i put her litterbox. It has worked wonders and now she doesn’t keep me up at night like her old cage did. I wouldn’t use any other cage but an NIC Cube cage.

There was no option for unknown age, which can be the case with pound/rescue bunnies. Also, I wasn’t sure if the last question meant that one is aware of health problems ones own bunny has had from housing, or if one is just generally aware that some health problems can be caused by housing.

Aware of health problems in general, and most times when rabbits are owned, there is some sort of age estimation based on their physical type and some tests, but thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Thank you very much for this feedback. This will be really healthful.
