Ok, this might seem a weird question… but does anyone know how to keep static charge off a person rather than clothing? Everyone I have met always finds it weird but here is my problem:
Ever since I can remember, when it gets cold, I get such a heavy static charge from myself that touching metal or people shocks me and anything I touch (you know how you can rub your socks on carpet to produce a shock? I do it naturally, with no effort). If it’s night time, you see a little white shock of the charge coming off, which ok looks kinda cool but is really annoying. This year however, it has become a real problem – I keep shocking my pets, which has never happened before, usually animals don’t cause the same issue not sure if it’s the fur insulation or what. But i’ve shocked Powder on his ears and Stickers on her nose and the poor bird keeps getting it on his beak, so I can hardly even pet the poor little things, I also keep shocking the bf whenever I touch him. lol
I have tried keeping myself super moisturized, I have a $20 bottle of anti-frizz stuff from a salon, I do use drier sheets for the clothes, since I don’t need any more static on my person, but nothing I have tried has worked. :s My mother says it’s my hair (super curly and super thick, which makes it dry) and my grandmother who had the same hair as I have when she was younger agrees. So short of chopping all my hair off, anyone else have any ideas?
