        Okay.

        Uhm.

What vacuum cleaners do you guys use?

I notice my bunny, during supervised playtime, likes to dash into her litter box, spread her hay everywhere, binky around in circles like mad, and pretty much leave a mess of hay and flying fur everywhere. She’s getting the hang of her box pretty well… But she tends to dash the litter around, as well…

You could try a covered, or higher rimmed litter box and see if that helps. But I just use a plain old bissel ($30 at walmart) – it gets clogged with hay, so I have to clean it out once a week or so but it handles everything else OK.

Now she has tired herself out and is laying next to me feet.
She just ran off again. xD

I’ll try a covered box for sure. I’m not sure where i’d put it, however.
Our cat has her own room, so I guess it would have to be in my room, which is carpeted (eek!).

What about putting down a blanket or linoleum where the litter box is? Easy to sweep up that way.

                That’s a good idea, too.
I’d have to get one for Oreo, too (the cat) because she flings out litter, as well.

I just roamed the house and only found poops near or in Penny’s (bunny) box, so she’s really getting on well with litter training.
I gave her a sliced grape and piece of broccoli as reward.

My rabbit also loves to run around then jump in her cage to the litterbox….. then fly out the door again lol!

                  Oh well!

Mine would do that too when I had a litter box outside of his pen and never used it as a potty so I got rid of it, he does it in his big litter box but I keep that in his cage so its easy to clean up. Its a $7 litter box with a rim on so it keeps his messes contained.

I have a cheap dirt devil that I use to vacuum his area with, a shop vac would be better but they take up too much space.

I have dyson that works really well for picking up fur.  I try to pick up most of the large hay pieces and cardboard shreddings first though.  When I let S.O. buy the vacuum we ended up with a shop vac.  That works great for hay on wood or linoleum floors but horrible on carpet.

But you’ll see in this picture I have a large deep litter box (it came with a cover, but they don’t like the cover) which is inside a larger plastic container (one of the roll under the bed kind -you can see the blue wheel).  That keeps most of the hay contained.  There are usually a bunch of flying poops around though, Arduina likes to fly out the litter box and kick poop everywhere…

Arduina is in the litter box you can see her ears poking up above the green bin.  Leo is chillin in the front of the room.

I use a mini shop vac ($30) for around the litterbox for stray litter, poo, hay and it works great. I havent had a problem using it on carpet? Mine has worked just fine.

I use a shark carpet sweeper for the hay, and I have a dyson for regular vacuuming. The carpet sweeper is a life saver! And, it only cost about $40, and saves the lifespan of my vacuum.
