The problem with the first one is the gaps ont he side that a bunny could squeeze through. the second isn’t a barrier as such, as it is fabric and can easily be shredded.

I don’t use small animal pens, I use the dog exercise pens. They are heavier, have doors, and are much more durable. Use that instead

Either of those should be fine, you’re more certain with the first to not have her chew through it though. We have the first one, there isn’t a gap on the sides that the bunny could get through, we use that one for our spare room

It’s tall and has spacing bars of like…
2 inches.

That looks like a normal xpen, the bars shouldn’t be 2 inches, mine are about an inch and a half at most maybe? Bunnies can’t get though it at all

Oh man, that baby bun squeezing through is terrifying

Seems they don’t make baby gates like they used to. We have one with plastic “mesh” creating a grid of 1″ x 1″ openings. The rabbits have chewed on it at bit, but not enough where they have created a hole. It’s stationary though, you can’t just swing it open and closed. You have to step over it all the time, which can be a bit annoying.

Thats not an xpen, thats a NIC grid pen with the grids that are greatly discouraged for the exact reason in that video. MAN that freaked me out!

I use a ‘gate’ to keep the bunnies in my room so they can run around in there without me worrying (since it’s bunny proofed). The ‘gate’ I use is actually a metal fireplace screen! It works great, they can push on it, lean on it, etc. and it doesn’t move + they have no desire to even try to chew it. Specifically I use this one http://www.homedepot.com/Building-Materials-Fireplace-Hearth-Fireplace-Screens/h_d1/N-aqbtZ5yc1v/R-202794145/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 because it fits perfectly in my doorway. Then the size panels give it standing support.

The only things I don’t like about using it are 1., it’s loud and heavy if you accidentally knock it over. 2., If you have wooden floors it can scratch them. 3., I’m short and it’s tall so I have to hop over it pretty much – lol – I just think of it as bunny bonding! I’m used to it and don’t think about it much now but if you don’t get an appropriately height sized one that might be a problem.

All in all it has worked great for me

If you have extra NIC grids left over from a condo, you can make a gate with those.
