That’s very irresponsible of the old owner though, shame on them.

Either way that’s pretty wierd. It’s sad when they go so young…

Ugh, poor thing – having to have two litters so close to each other hope the new babies stay healthy.

There seems to be another BB glitch, I can’t see any of your posts?? Might want to alert BB, not sure how to do that

I just learned about the rule like 2 weeks ago so I thought I’d pass it on. I think the reasoning is they don’t want to encourage seeing the adoribleness of babies because it can encourage amateur breeding, which we both know is a bad thing, you know? I thought it was kinda odd, but really if I want to see baby bunnies I can google images, and BB has so few rules I figure its there for a reason.

Thanks, Sam and Lady’s Human. I honestly did not know and while I think it is silly, I understand it’s a forum rule. I have no idea why my messages are missing?

Its probably a glitch, there have been a few of them lately. I wouldn’t worry about it. Maybe see if BB has the original to repaste? They have records sometimes, not sure how that works.

Sorry, it’s been known to happen. Some members get annoyed, delete all their posts… if I seemed snide, it’s due to the fact it has happened before when someone disagreed with something else said.

I don’t know why the posts are gone. It shows someone went in and edited them all at the same time at 9:52 — so I will need to figure that out.

That is very strange. luvmyhunybuny– did you use an ipad or tablet? Though that should not delete them AFTER the fact if you were editing your comments on an ipad or tablet, that may have happened.  Very strange and I will need to call in my geek squad for that one. But being that it’s Christmas, I doubt that will happen today. I may be able to find the posts though and repost later (But lets enjoy Christmas morning first!)

Regarding posting photos of babies –if these are rescue bunnies (Fostering for a legitimate rescue or what not), it can be posted in the Rescue Section. The reason for this rule, and I can see how it may not be fully understood, is when people were posting photos of baby bunnies, it seemed that there was soon more to follow from new members. Sometimes people will do a google search for baby bunnies, and our site will come up when the title or subject contains “baby bunnies” and it seemed to draw in the wrong type of attention. I know it sounds weird, I get that, but it really did draw in more baby bunny type of posts, and our goal is to prevent accidental pregnancies not highlight them.

However, I do think that regardless — being respectful to each other is expected in this forum even if there is a misunderstanding or disagreement. Please do not call someone a name or put them down. I’ve deleted the offending posts, but going forward, remain respectful and kind to each other. There is no reason to meet each other with hostility. This is a bunny board, not a battle ground, so always take the higher road, and use the alert button if someone decides to take the discussion down a ditch.

Good morning, guys. I’m glad to see that BB saw this first, and explained the rule.
Members are often new here having a new bunny for the first time, or just finding us, so it is hard to imagine being in their shoes and not knowing why a rule exists. If anyone was a member about 2 years ago, there was a terrible escalation of baby litters or “oops” litters that did seem to be a direct result of extensive posting with pictures of lots of baby bunnies. Several people were obviously becoming breeders, also not allowed, and it was ramping up the activity that undermined the advice to speuter, with these litters adding to the rescue population rather than keeping it from happening. We found that without cute photos, the interest diminished greatly, so the rule helped a lot.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve noticed that the Holidays can bring out the stress in folks, even bunny slaves who are the nicest people on the web! I really appreciate how much all of you care.

I did see the OP with the bunny photo. I have to say, they were incredibly precious looking babies, although it is sad that the two litters occurred back to back. This is just another reason to not have an unspayed female with a male, whether neutered or not. A neutered male can still POTENTIALLY impregnate a female after neutering, some have said as long as a year after, altho most studies have determined 1-2 months.

I was on my Nook and I noticed my messages were gone after I edited the original post (taking the babies picture off).
