  Hey guys, recently I recived a lot of shipping packages (gonna love the holiday seasons) and some of them are packed in biodegradable packing peanuts.
  
  Since I have so many of them and they dissovle in water. I was thinking maybe I should use it and make it like some kind toy for my bunny. (digging box maybe)
  
  Now I looked up the company who made them, they are made of corn starches (smelled like popcorn to me) and here is what the company webpage said:

  IS IT HARMFUL TO WILDLIFE OR PETS?
  No. Although not particularly tasty, PUFFY STUFF is even edible and digests easily. Try it!
  
  Does any body have any experience with this? Is it save to give to my bunny?

  Eh, I would be worried about bun eating it – even if it isn’t harmful, it surely isn’t nutritional. And it seems like just the kind of thing a rabbit would LOVE to eat. Personally, I would just stick with paper for the dig boxes.

  I know that they make ferret dig boxes out of it, but I don’t know that it would be safe for a bunny or not. Check out Drsfostersmith.com for the ferret ones, maybe they have more information?

  I wouldn’t, just stick to paper. Bunnies are different when it comes to digestive systems.

  I am worried about that too, looking at the rate of my bun destroying the cardboard castles and his paper dig boxes.
  I feel like maybe I should introduce something new to him.
  
  Well, maybe i’ll just dissolve it in the sink, it’s kinda fun for me to watch.

  So it’s made of some grain by product then? Bunnies shouldn’t have grains.

  neither corn or potato are good for buns, so yeah… stay away from it

  but huh? i have bought Fun Pop treats for my rabbit. and basically its just little sticks of corn that you microwave and give it to youre bunny as popcorn (when it cools down though of course.) so is this really that unhealthy for them?.?

  Corn is bad for rabbits, so yes it is unhealthy. Just because you can buy it from a store, doesn’t mean you should use it. For example, the sunflower seeds etc in rabbit feeds – VERY bad for them, but still widely used. There is no regulation on what they can sell for animals. Another example of lack of regulations making things dangerous: For parrots, in example, A LOT of the metals used for their toys and food holders contain zinc, which is lethal to them if ingested and has killed many birds, but every pet store still carries them. It’s the responsibility of the owner to research, since the pet stores / suppliers don’t care.
