Mr. Morgan was neutered today! He did well, came home and is eating, drinking, pottying all normal. Hopped right out of his carrier, bopped the welcoming committee (cats) on the noses and hopped on into his cage. He really has had no undesirable behaviors, aside from leaving pellets here and there (ok, EVERYWHERE) and peeing occassionally outside of the cage. I’m hoping this will help with that, but if it doesn’t, I’m ok with that.
My concern is, as good as he is with the cats, kid, people, everybody….. I never even really thought about testing him with dogs. Our dog is a 10 year old chihuahua that isn’t allowed upstairs (and can’t do the steps by herself anyway) so he’s not been exposed to dogs here……. until the other day, when we adopted a puppy. The puppy’s a calm pug mix, only weighing in at 8 pounds….. but she walked into the bun’s room and Morgan went completely nuts. I honestly thought I had just killed the rabbit.
I’m really worried he’s gonna end up in a home with dogs, and am wondering if easing him into some rabbit/dog introductions while he’s here might do him some good, or if it is a lost cause, and unnecessary torture to the bun? What do you all think?
He really is well rounded, otherwise….. and loves his kitty friends…..
