I noticed Wilbur became more aggressive and hormonal after her spay for a couple days, it could have also been she was in pain and scared.

With regard to the spay: make sure you have Metacam (a pain reliever) on hand from the vet. Mine does 5 days worth, and I noticed it helped Hazel make a quick recovery. If your bun doesn’t want to eat much the first day, that’s pretty normal, but if she keeps refusing food, take her to the vet. They can give you Oxbow Critical Care to mix with pureed pumpkin to syringe feed her; it helps keep their GI tract normal and functioning. My vet just fed her some the first night anyway to make sure things kept moving.

Otherwise, expect your bun to not move around a lot and seem very sleepy. Mine slept almost the whole next day. Watch her urine and feces output, and give her the space she needs to recover. Check her incision site for swelling and oozing (a sign of infection)

I think every bun is different with regards to hormones; Hazel was nearly perfect about her litterbox a few days after her spay and has been since! She was never aggressive or hormonal, either. But if those things do happen, remember that they’re normal, and don’t be grumpy at your bun – she’s under the influence of crazy hormones! Think PMS times a million =)
