OK so I hate to post a thread just to find something I read here earlier but I looked everywhere on here. It was in regards to using 2 x4s for the edges of flooring in play areas/rooms.

I am trying to expand my buns normal play area of a superyard to my walk in closet and the bf and I bought a 6 x 8 sheet vinyl tonight (we are renting and bun like to rip up carpet) and we plan on putting it down but I know I can’t make this buns room where he can stay 24/7 sometimes unattended YET until I made sure the edges of the floor are secure.

So before we buy the wood, what was the type I can get that is secure? I know it needs to be untreated but what if he chews it? is there a better solution? I’ll post a picture when we’re done to help. I don’t even know he’ll try to get at the edges of it but I would like to take the superyard out of the equation eventually and just have a gate in the doorway. AND eventually is a farther future we’ll have the bedroom bun-proofed and he can become free range the carpet chewing stops.

Does the mat not cover the floor? I’m a little confused…

yes it cover the carpet. Honestly we should’ve got cloroplast or whatever its called cuz we’re still messing with it. But dear bf ran out to home depot before it closed and got cut 2 x 4s to fit over the edges of this sheet vinyl (its like flexible plastic) i’m not sure it was meant to lay over carpet but we’re making it work. Well I hope it works. but I’m concerned he might eat the 2 x 4s i know we got untreated wood but well he’s a bun

so this is what we have here. (Bun is in back left hand corner).
I gave him my whole walk-in closet. but since we’re renting and he’s decided he likes to rip carpet up. We had to cover it. So someone recommended sheet vinyl. So we cut it down to fit but it wasn’t fitting and I knew bun would chew edges so we trimmed it a little more and added 2 x 4s around the edges. What does everything think? I’m all for improvement but take in mind I’m college student on budget
