Does anyone know how many panels you get with the Grid Wire Modular Shelving and Storage Cubes at Bed Bath & Beyond?
        (Link: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp)

I’m helping my neighbor build a pen for her bunny out of NIC cubes, so we have to find a place to buy them. The WalMart in Honolulu does not carry the Whitmore cubes and there is no option to ship them to the Hawaii store, but I noticed that Bed Bath & Beyond does appear to have the grids available at the Oahu store. I will call to confirm they have them (and at least 2 sets!) before we go all the way over there, but we are planning on making a pen that is 5 cubes long and 2 cubes wide, with a top, so that means we will need… 38 grids right? 10 grids each for the two long walls, 4 grids each for the two short walls, and 10 grids on top, which is 38 total. (I’ve never actually built one of these things so someone please correct my math if I’m wrong!) So I’m trying to figure out if we’d need two boxes of grids, or three. There’d have to be at least 19 grids per box for me to get away with just two boxes, which would be nice, because it’d save 20 bucks!

Has anyone bought these and could tell me how many grids there are per box?

I’m not sure how many come in those boxes. I thought they made 4 cubes…?
          which would look like this…

and 4 cubes for the back. That would be 16 panels. They might have a 6 cube set, which would have 7 additional panels.

I have go the ones from bed bath and beyond before. They come with 17 grids and 2 shelf grids ( the shelf grids have hooks on them so they can connect to other grids) but you may be able to use them as normal grids. So that means their is 19 grids in each box, so you would need 2 packs of grids to make a 2×5 pen with a top. Hope this helped!

I used those to build Bumblebunny’s home. I think there are 16 pieces in each box. You probably would be better buying plastic cable ties to hold the panels together. Rabbits can be strong enough push the panels apart if you use the connectors that are included with the panels. There are some websites that show different designs using the panel including a section under Bunny Info on this website. Good Luck with the project

The ones she showed in the link have 19 grids. I agree on the zip-ties! The connectors they come with are a joke and very hard to put together!

Well, we found the cubes! We decided to go with a 4x2x2 cube setup instead of 5x2x2. We also decided to have one shelf 12 inches up that is two cubes across, and have the roof just above that part be a grid higher (so she can be on her shelf and still stretch vertically if she wishes). The condo is far from finished, as not all the zipties are tight, none of them are cut, and we also have to cut some zipties off to allow for the door, but I think it should be at least functional by tomorrow, even if the shelf is not ready. We also got this rubbery vinyl flooring stuff at Home Depot which will be put underneath. It’s still pretty textured but is waterproof, so the carpet wouldn’t potentially get soiled.

Here is when we just got started and Noelle kept coming over to investigate:

Here’s what we have so far:

Update: She’s in her pen now. We put her whole cage in the pen so that she could have some time to adjust and still have something familiar to climb back into. The plan is to remove her cage once she adjusts, so she’ll have more room to hop around, and just leave the litterbox. She’s being a little stubborn right now and sulking about it, staying in her small cage and not exploring the pen, but my neighbor said last night she came out to eat the carrots we’d put on the pen floor, and to lounge in her litterbox a little. So it’s progress!

Bunnies! So stubborn! I guess we’ll just have to let her sulk a little till she gets over it and decides to like her pen. =P I think it’s the vinyl flooring she doesn’t like, preferring the newspaper of her cage of the carpet of our floor.
