So I ordered a Teach N Treat for the buns. I was supposed to be for Christmas, but my husband couldn’t resist the urge to give it to them. We were taking bets on who would be better at figuring it out. He said Leopold since he is a little bolder than Wooly. I started out with little pieces of Oxbow banana in there to get them interested. Here’s what happened.
Leopold was extremely frustrated and kept biting at it. He was vicious, planting both front paws on it and then yanking upward with his teeth. I had it on level one, they are just supposed the slide the disc around with their nose.
Wooly did much better and was simply squishing his nose into the gap until the disc moved enough for him to get the treat. He scratched a little bit, but he was actually scratching in the “right” place (unlike Leopold).
Then my husband said to put some pellets in there since obviously we can’t keep putting banana in there. I did that and Leopold was even more frustrated with it. He grabbed the disc is his teeth and was somehow able to dislodge it from the frame that holds it in. Then he was smashing his face in the holes trying to get the pellets. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get his fat face in there (he’s a holland). The holes are too small. So he was trying to shovel them out with his bottom jaw. Then he’d get mad and just bite at the rims of the holes.
Wooly didn’t have much trouble getting the pellets out. His face and mouth are much more streamlined.
I got some video, but it isn’t very good. I will post it later.
