› FORUM › THE LOUNGE › Questionable ad on BB?
I just noticed an ad at the top of the page for plancanada. It says ”Give the gift of hope”: Reproducing rabbits. And has a kid petting some NZ bunnies. Just wondering if BB knows about this ad since they are talking about breeding rabbits and, presumably, selling and eating them.
I know when the ads started on BB she said to let her know if you see anything inappropriate.
I’m all for helping children in need but I don’ think rabbits are the right answer. That’s just trading one suffering for another.
Hmmm. I didn’t see that. Maybe it was specific to you b/c you’re in Canada?
Sounds like the kind of thing they were always pushing when I was younger (and might still be). “Buy a goat or pig or chickens for a family in the developing world…”
Anyways, I’ll alert BB to make sure she sees this.
Thanks
It was at the top of the page. I managed to save a pic of it.

I’m pretty sure she can go in and do something so this doesn’t show up. I’ll send an alert on this to BB as well.
She definitely can block unsavory ads, since I alerted her once when they first started running them and she was able to do that, so thanks for catching it.
Funny it happened now, because just yesterday I saw an ad on the top banner for corsets! It was more funny than tasteless, so I didn’t bother. but the thought crossed my mind. I’m betting that the Holidays are getting some one-time ads purchased more by desperate sellers, so we may be seeing more weird and tasteless ones. Keep those eyes peeled. Thanks!

Sometimes I see ads related to something I had searched for recently…
Erm… just sayin’…

LOL, Beka, you are funny. RP, do tell, have you been looking for corsets (for Sammykins of course) :~)
Oh, please. I should be, since I can’t work for Weight Watchers right now because, well, I need a corset. LOL
No, they were just a banner that popped up on one of our pages this week. I didn’t even know they still existed.
And Herself slimmed down quiet a bit on the Critical Care, but she’s been a treat/fruit fiend ever since, so now it’s “As the Tummy Bulges” again.
corsettes eh? Orchard Corsettes.com is an authentic corsette shop. They are made to be very tightly tied and hold up. I have a few. I gained weight and now I can’t fit in them.
When I did fit in them I did lose quite a bit of weight. If you are going to get one get one that fits over your top and straps on your shoulders. The others kind of fold over after a bit.
I want to order some that fit me and lose weight. It really works.
And improves your posture
lol corsets, what an odd ad to have here – I have ads blocked on my browser (since ads are the #1 source of spyware/hidden things on sites) so I don’t see any of them.
I get lots of ads for mail order tortoises and turtles here. Which is a pretty horrible business concept.
KateMonster, I’ve seen that one too – ugh.
LOL BT.
That’s so cool that you’ve shopped there. Do you mean to say that if you wear a corset, you start to lose weight? I know it holds you in, but does it suppress your appetite? (or breathing?) I can see that it would definitely help your posture.
I could see losing weight when wearing one, as it wouldn’t let you eat to the point where you’d have to, say, unbutton your pants to be comfy as someone I may know does on certain occasions *coughmecough*
If your tummy can’t expand out, you won’t eat as much.
Let’s go on a Girdle Diet! ![]()
Corsets and turtle ads? Wow, how come I never see those? Anyway, any time anyone sees something off like that, let me know as I don’t have control of what comes in at times. I block bunny breeding ads, but sometimes stuff can get through. And who would think to block corsets and turtles….it’s just not in the forefront of my mind, so I just have to go with the flow and block along the way as strange things come up.
Too funny Beka!!
Now I see a lot of those ‘smart ads’ so they look at your ip to see if you are male or female and age right and I guess sites and stuff-so I get a lot of male ads directed at puny dweebs trying to beef up to get the girls (I tell Dave it’s from all his dorky sites he goes on, the internet knows a geek lives here!)
My parents give to that charity (in the ad mentioned) but they expressly let me know they give goats and chickens…. eep!
All of my ads today are for the BB store with some sort of crazed bunny-Yeti hybrid staring at me O.O
I’ll admit I smiled.
Lately I mostly see the BB ad and Save A Bunny, both of which make me happy! Occassionally I see ads for rabbit hutches and think, boy are you targeting the wrong crowd.
lol Rachel, I get the same one all the time ![]()
