What kinds of games do people play with their bunny? Olive used to love tearing up a cardboard box (before she met Simon; hasn’t been that into cardboard boxes since, although to be honest, it’s been awhile since I’ve given her one). I tried filling a pill jar with some pennies for her to roll around, but that didn’t lead to much excitement whatsoever.
Mostly my bunnies seem to play a game of kind of chase game where they scatter randomly and run around, but that’s not too often. I just can’t seem to figure out what it is they’d like (I really want to get them one of those BB cardboard mazes, but my boyfriend thinks I’m nuts).
I sometimes make a little tower out of toilet paper tubes and then my bunnies like to knock it down and run off with the tubes. ![]()

Oh that sounds so adorable!
Mine don’t seem at all interested in toilet paper tubes. I’ve tried stuffing them with hay, rolling them around on the floor… Bunnies probably get more entertainment watching Crazy Lady With the Toilet Paper Tubes than anything else
.
Olivia loves playing with toys during run-time. Her favourites are the coloured toddler stacking cups. I stack them up and she loves to knock them down and throw them. Sometimes I stash a little treat under one and she tries to find it. She also likes her plastic slinky. I also play a game with her using a deck of cards. I fan out the cards poker style and she pulls them out one by one until they are all scattered. We call this game “pick a card”. These are all really cheap toys compared to the price of bunny-specific toys.
My boys aren’t into toys as much. They love their Cottontail Cottage though. I also bought a “Crazy Curly Tunnel” from Toys R Us. It was a bit pricey but they all adore it. You can stretch it out into different sizes and shapes. The fun they get out of it is worth the price! ![]()
Mine love playing with paper bags stuffed with goodies like carrots lettuce or pellets I poke holes in the bag.
Meadow plays a mean game of Chess…
My bunnies like any game that involves treats. Sometimes I put treats in a little treat ball and they chase it around. Other times I get treats out and work on tricks (Otto knows a few, Hannah knows none, but I can at least lead her around in a spin or get her to stand up). Other than that I just leave cardboard boxes scattered around their room and they have fun ripping them up and throwing them.
Haha Beka.
Lady plays with a soccer ball, she runs around the room pushing it with her nose. She tears up some cardboard, I bought a cardboard cement form that she loves as a tunnel, and she gnaws on that a little. Oh, and she loves to make a huge ruckus and charge through the window blinds, crazy bun.
Samson is a little odd I think, she wont even tear up cardboard or a phone books. Her pen is pretty much always pristine, her mini haven looks as new as it did when I got it like, 6 months ago?? She’ll chase her treat ball to get food
And she does bunny 500’s pretty often ![]()
Monkey likes to play “How many poopies can I leave around the pen for Mommy to pick up” game. She marks against Squirrel’s interloping… sigh.

Oooh! Then Monkey and Olive have a game in common! Although, Olive’s bonded to Simon (not sure if Monkey is to Squirrel), so really, she should have no quarrels with sharing space. After all, what’s hers is hers, and what’s his… is hers, too! ![]()

Now that mine are bonded, they seem to be getting lazier and lazier all the time. They occasionally binky around and do bunny five hundreds, but they are just as likely to be flopped somewhere, or eating their first cut (ONLY) hay.
Olive used to have a thing for cardboard boxes, but it’s been a while since I gave her a good-sized one to tear up, and she liked phonebooks–but that was such an annoying mess to clean up that I haven’t had it in me to give her another one.
Monkey is bonded to Smudge, we’re going to bond Squirrel to Moose
they aren’t even int he same room lol. But Monkey sees him occasionally through the door, so she knows he is here.
Tait loves his cat treat ball. He will play with it for hours before finally realising that nothing is left in it
He also likes the newspaper jellyfish when I make him one and hay and dried herbs in a toliet paper tube. He always has a diggy box with shredded paper and a crinkly cat tunnel that he spends the most of his time in ![]()
Malp, I have been debating on getting Nava a treat ball for Christmas. I think she’ll love it.
Nava’s and the other animals lists are growing on what I want to get them. Haha.
Haha same here Mandy, each of my animals has a small stocking and I’m running out of room in them!! The treat ball was the best $9 I have ever spent!
Haha, ah. My animals have their own stockings too. We haven’t got any presents for them yet, but I’m making lists of what I want to get them.
I just bought a cat toy the other day, those ones on the long stick and string with the fancy fun stuff on the end. Its a colorful mouse on the end that makes fun shaking noises and my bun loves to chase it! And when she grabs it we play tug of war!
^^ I DEMAND A VIDEO! Haha.
Charging my camera so I can load one up!
Good, good. Haha.
Sometimes Wilbur and I play a non aggressive game of chase. No, don’t worry, I’m not traumatizing her
. She’ll run away from me and then bop me with her nose and then run away really fast again and repeat. And I don’t really chase after her lol. I don’t think it’s a game that people should play with all bunnies, it really depends on the rabbit’s personality and context. It’s much different from when I’m trying to get her to pick her up and she’s actually trying to run away from me haha.
Got it! Took me a while as my ipod was not loading it right
THAT’S SO CUTE!
I watched it on youtube a few minutes ago, i’m dying from the cute!
hahaha awesome! She is kind of tired in this video but when she is hyper, she grabs it and tries to drag me across my room, she looks like a little snuggly bulldog!
Gaww, sounds cute! ![]()
Awhhh that is too funny (and cute).
I have a glove with little hanging stringy things on it (it’s a cat toy) I got Nava to play with it today!
Tomorrow I’ll try recording her playing with it. Haha.
Uhh. Ummm… Well Panda absolutly ♥’s playing with the rattle on this page: http://store.binkybunny.com/bunny-willow-ring-rattle-p18.aspx
Mine is definitely into foraging. I take old phone books and hide treats within the pages. After a while the pages are all torn up into little bits. Then I put these in a plastic litter pan. I hide treats and toys in the shredded paper. Sometimes i put cardboard pieces on top of that so she has to fling that away to look for goodies.
I have also trained her to do a bunch of tricks. We have a training session every morning. Fun for us both! Here are some things she learned. http://youtu.be/a9poWbBG-GM
