  On Rabbits Onlne (which I rarely go on now, because they didn’t apperciate my humane ways to safly get rid of mice) suggested to NEVER house rabbits and Guinea Pigs together, but some people suggested that I should either look into getting a bunny or if not a Pig for Nava. I owned them when I was younger, but I barely remember them. They just never appealed to me like rats, mice, bunnies, ferrets or even hamsters did. My little bunny guide I got from a rabbit rescue even says they acan live together, their is a slight difference in diets but other then that they shold be fine if your bunny is friendly. Nava has always been relaxed and friendly, so that wouldn’t be an issue.
  
  I’m not jumping into getting one (because I would like to read about them and such first, and have to get a yes from my mom) but what are your opinions on piggies?
  
  I personally would like to adopt a rabbit instead, but I think it would have to be a rabbit close to Nava’s age, fixed, and also relaxed with other bunnies.

  Well, piggies can’t be litter trained, so take that into consideration. they also have slightly different dietary needs. Such as daily vitamin C supplements. I would just go for another bunny

  I have a pair of piggies that live in their own NIC condo in the bunny room. They belonged to my grandkids and I promised to give them the best life I could, but when they pass naturally, I don’t think I’d get any more. They’re just different little souls from bunnies and I relate better to the buns. They are extremely messy compared to the buns and if I let them out on the floor to play, I have to put down all sorts of plastic coverings so they have a big 2×5 grid condo.
  
  I’ve let the buns and piggies out together and they seem to get along as far as not fighting but you have to laugh when they think they’re communicating with this other species and just getting blank looks back. The piggies would line up behind a bunny to play train or run and hide under them.
  
  I would go with the bun as a companion.

  I hear “can’t be litter trained” and you loose me, that’s all I need to hear. Haha. My closes bunny rescue has a male Flemish who is all black for 60 dollars, and he’s sweet and has a gentle personality so I want to see if I can do a “bunny date” with him (he’s already fixed too, all their rabbits are fixed). It won’t be for another month or so though.
  
  I think I’ll just look into getting her a (neutered) bf from a rescue.

  Rabbits and Guinea pigs pellets aren’t the same. Rabbits’ pellets contain antibiotics. Guinea pig cannot eat or drink any part of antibiotic. Antibiotics are toxic to guinea pigs.
  
  Rabbits can be litter-trained however it is very very very rare to find guinea pig that is litter-trained.
  
  Rabbits normally sleep during the day while guinea pigs.. hmm hard to say. Random times? Sometimes they sleep during the day or nights. It is depend on guinea pig(s)’ mood(s). So don’t want guinea pig to bother rabbit while rabbit need to sleep during the day.
  
  Also, guinea pig and rabbit cannot communicate with each other very well. It is like IF you and monkey are in same house. You have no idea what monkey is going to say to you. Your diet is similar to monkey but you can’t talk to monkey. You’ll feel lonely because you’ll need to express to other human for making your feeling better. (I can tell that my rabbits expressed their feelings all the time. After I groom the female rabbit aka Belle, she ran to Romeo and placed her face under Romeo’s face. She did that every time when she was scared.)
  
  Rabbits shred their fur a lot. I noticed 2 of three of my guinea pigs ate rabbits’ furs. So it isn’t good idea because rabbits’ fur can be thicker than guinea pig’ fur.. could upset guinea pig’s digestive tract. (No, my rabbits and guinea pigs don’t live together. I let guinea pigs walk around on the floor. Some rabbits’ fur were happen to be on the floor. After I found out, then I normally vacuum the fur off the floor then let guinea pigs exercise.)
  
  if you are planning to adopt guinea pig. YOU MUST.. I repeat, MUST adopt another guinea pig. Guinea pig are very very social species. Trust me on that one. However, it is very very rare to find guinea pig that don’t like to be around other guinea pig. Not sure the statistics but I’ll assume around 5% of guinea pigs’ population don’t want to be around with same species.
  
  Some said rabbits can live alone but some said that we should get second rabbits for company. Not sure about that. But after I adopt my second rabbit, two of my rabbits are very close to each other like it is impossible to separate them. In my opinion, yes rabbits is like guinea pigs. They should have same species for company.
  If you are planning to adopt rabbit. Don’t give up the hope of bonding them. It took me long 9 months of dealing with my rabbits of fighting.. fighting.. fighting.. fighting.. fighting.. fighting.. then best friends for life.. 0.o weird rabbits….
  
  Most would say rabbits can hurt guinea pig by kicking with their hind legs. It is true. I also want to add something. Guinea pig can HURT rabbit, too. Sometimes, my guinea pig bite and tear Romeo’s whiskers off.
  
  Hmm, I don’t know what else to add. That’s all I can think of.
  
  I have three guinea pigs (one of them died in early spring’ 11) and two rabbits. That’s how I know.

  Actually, I didn’t really want one. I never had an interest in them, but I was wondering if it was true or not about bonding them together because it seemed like an either or thing, some think its okay while others don’t.
  
  My rabbit did live with another rabbit for most of her life, but her cage-mate recently passed away. She seems to be doing fine on her own so I wasn’t in a rush to get her a friend, and I can’t afford one right now. But in a few months I maybe able to afford it.

  I know, this is good for guests to read because it is really upset me that people think it is okay to have guinea pig and rabbit to live together.

  yes, Monkey is rather hard to converse with… and she would plot to kill me if I tried to eat her food.
