Well, this is Dandelion… or just Mini, as we call her. We got her from a local breeder over the summer and she is now 4.5 months. The breeder sold her as a lionhead/dwarf rabbit but I am questioning this a bit or would at least like to know what KIND of dwarf
I see the lionhead, since her mane had started showing up when she was about 2.5 months. But the dwarf part… she is already quite a bit bigger than my Netherland (who is about 3.8 lbs) and her face has started to grow slightly pointy. She has been growing like a weed! Her ears started off very tiny and didn’t grow much with her body, but out of nowhere they shot up! Over the past few weeks, both ears have kind of flopped (sometimes only one) and they lay to the side. It’s absolutely adorable! (i’ve never had a lop bunny before)
I have a few images to share, and i’d like to find out if someone could pick out the other breed in there? I have a feeling she is going to get QUITE huge! The first picture is 6 weeks, 2nd is about 10 weeks, 3rd is 14 weeks or so and 4th and 5th are most recent at 20 weeks. She has changed SO much!

I know some lionheads have lop ears that i’ve seen people using the name lionlop, but her mother was a lionhead and had little ears that stood up straight. Not to mention, most lionheads I have seen are quite small (as was her mother). I wish I would have been able to see her father!

That is one cute ball of fluff!! I clicked on the picture and read a description of the colors. Broken (or Butterfly) means that it is a white rabbit with a coloured nose, ears and body. There was a baby lionhead that looked nearly exact to mine that was a broken blue.

Dwarf doesn’t always = dwarf size. Lionheads in themselves aren’t “pure” breeds, they are a creating of from breeding, so that pointy noise could be from a NZ way down the line or something, genetics usually isn’t as black and white as 2 exact breeds
Now that said, my lionheads nose points a bit more now than when she was a baby, I think its just part of their growing. Are her ears actually lopped or does she just have really good control? Samson has realllly good control of hers, its funny to watch.

She has pretty good control of her ears (which I agree is hilarious to watch) but sometimes she just lets them flop to the side haha! But since she has been growing so quickly, I think they’re getting to the point she can’t hold them up anymore. Like, the second picture they still stood straight up but after a few months – one fell down and now they’re either one up/one down or both down haha!
