Well here in Madison we’ve been having some rainy cold days all week. This morning in class I was distracted by a loud wistling wind sound and when I looked out the window it was snowing pretty heavily for a first snow. Didn’t stop all day and didn’t melt. Fortunately my school is located in the countryside with a forrest and the Yahara River and the snow was very fluffy looking. It was so gorgeous. Heh until I walked outside and fell on my butt because school shoes and slippery snow do not mix.

Probably no big deal here, but I’m sure you’ve heard at least a blip on your news about the ‘killer storm’ raging off the west coast of Alaska. It’s been terrible for anyone in it’s path.
Anticipating it’s eventual arrival to the Interior, hubby and I went and stocked up on about $600 worth of food for the approaching ‘snow-pocalypse’ only to discover that we’re probably not going to get hit that hard. The forecast yesterday called for five consecutive days of snow…now it looks like Juneau and Anchorage are going to get spanked with it instead.

Lol @ Mike…not gonna miss that this year, are ya’?

It should only ever snow on Christmas eve, and Christmas Day, in my opinion. Snow can stay away from me the rest of the year.

MM, I hope you don’t get snowed in too bad, I’ll be sending something your way soon

It snowed here like a week ago. It didn’t actually stick though. Snow flakes in the air, the ground was just wet.

I’m with longhairmike on this one, haha. Bit of a cold front these couple of days but we’re headed back into the balmy 70’s for the weekend .

We got 2 cm a few days before Halloween. It’s gorgeous this week though. Supposed to be 16 C today.

We had a huge snow (along with much of the NE) on the weekend before Halloween. It was pretty rough – the trees still had leaves so there were tons of broken branches and power outages. We only lost power for a day, but apparently tons of people in CT lost it for up to 8 days. I don’t mind snow so much in general. When we get a big snow in the winter we just work from home (our jobs can mostly be done on the computer) so it’s a nice little snow day. Though now we’re 5 minutes from work so I don’t know if we’ll be able to get away with working from home quite as well as before 😉

This happened when I was in high school. They had to cancel school for 2 weeks because half of the city didn’t have power.

We had a huge snowstorm over here in NJ over halloween, I was out of power for almost 4 days. It’s been chilly but not snowy since.

I am one of the few crazies who likes snow. (and I don’t even ski) The UP of Michigan has been getting it really bad near the WI border. Other parts of MI near Lake Michigan, and the upper areas of the mitten have gotten it. My area not so much. We live in the Detroit Smog Bubble, so I am sure it incinerates in the atmosphere before hitting the ground. What is funny is that here we will get like 2 inches, and in the same storm my mom who live just under 30 miles north of us will get like a foot and a half. It is also typical for our area to average about 5* warmer then surrounding areas like my moms. Gotta love all of those Motor City green house gases.

We got about 4″ yesterday but it is mostly melted. It’s snowing again too!

No snow here, in fact, it only just got cold enough to snow last night. We almost hit 80 the day before yesterday. All this crazy weather, however, has given me a cold/sinus infection. The pressure behind my face is making me feel like my eyeballs are going to pop out! I look forward to snow, although I don’t look forward to driving in it. People here are the WORST drivers!! No joke. The first thing my mom did when I was old enough to drive (b-day is in Jan) was she took me into a parking lot filled with ice and snow and taught me how to drive safely on it. Also, never go to the grocery store the day before it’s supposed to snow here, you won’t find a parking place and you’ll stand in line for hours! No exaggeration, it’s ridiculus! Unfortunatley, we don’t see much snow here in KY, the last few years it’s been more ice than anything. But my birthmom lives in Cleveland and I’m always up there around the holidays so I get my share of snow

MimzMum: Ick, sounds like a lot of fun. (sarcasm lol) How often do you guys get storms like that?

Elrohen and Sam and Lady’s Human: Oh wow! Those storms could not have been pleasant.

Joyfull_music: Haha weird, I didn’t even realize that could happen.

Abbygirl: I think Madison only got about 2 inches and Berry (very small town outside of Black Earth where my farm is) I’d say we got 3-4 but it stuck haha

I never mesured how much we got. I love to watch it snow though! So pretty! ( in a month or two I will want it to be summer again )

This storm is supposed to be the worst in 40 years. I was watching some video, they said with the surge there was one place that lost three Connex containers in a few short minutes off a coastal construction site. Connex…like the ones that go on trains! 0_o

We did get quite a bit of snow here today. It’s lovely to watch if you’ve got a nice bay window and a roaring fireplace and a cup of cocoa…but I’m not that lucky. >.< Although I'm not feeling so bad about all those groceries now. xD
My thoughts go out to those who had to endure that nasty storm over the east coast last week. Have they finally finished getting power back to every one yet? (not meaning those posting here, obviously…lol…that’s a given)

Keeping an eye on my mailbox, MB!

Ok so just after I made that post that we have not gotten any yet, I was driving to work and we had this rain/snow mix coming down. I was happy because it kept a lot of people out of the store.
