How many cups do you give to 3 rabbits everyday!? I have three and I’m never positive. ![]()
![]()
General rule of thumb is 2 cups daily per 6 pounds body weight. How much do each of your rabbits weigh? Oh and welcome to BinkyBunny ![]()
Thnx!! My friend told me I should make one and I LOVE IT!!!
And my rabbits I’d estimate are about 2 pounds each.. maybe.. I have never weighed them..They are pretty young tho.. (:
(: Ohhh how young? And do you know their breeds? If they are under 12 weeks old they shouldn’t get any veggies at all, and if they are 12 weeks old or older (but close to that) they should be introduced veggies slowly and one at a time (list of okay veggies http://www.rabbit.org/care/veggies.html)
They are 5-6 months old
They are Dutch (:
Nice! Okay, so they definitely are old enough to be given veggies. Sometime it would be a good idea to weigh them, are you planning on getting them spayed (they are at the perfect age)? The vet will always weigh them on an appointment and that would be more accurate. If they are actually 2 pounds then the total amount of veggies you should feed them all together is about 2 cups, or 7/10 of a cup per bunny.
It’s two cups of veggies up to 6 pounds. So they should be getting 6 cups a day combined.
Ah sorry! I guess I was misinformed!
It’s confusing wording. We’ve discussed it with multiple sources to come to that conclusion. And technically, 2 cups is the minimum. My buns (3.5 and 5 pounds) share 6-8 cups a day.
Holy cow, mine would never eat that much a day! If I give them too much then they won’t finish it (too busy eating hay I guess). I usually just give them a handful each. Wooly is a little over 2lbs.
Haha… yeah mine are little cows. They will finish their whole serving of veggies within a few hours (between naps), and they still eat a ton of hay. I’ve tried giving them less in the past but they finish it and look at me like I’m trying to starve them. AND… they get a second serving if Mike and I are having salads that night, altho usually just a couple handfuls…
I’m a big green feeder too! Vivian doesn’t eat it it all one sitting (though sometimes she will), but generally it’s over a few hours time.
I follow the House Rabbit Guidelines of “Minimum 2 cups chopped veggies per 6 lbs. body weight” and that was clarified to mean “up to 6lbs body weight” however, if you have a tiny bunny, you can adjust this to what you know is too much for him/her.
Yeah Wilbur never ever finishes her veggies (she’s 3 pounds), I find some left overs all wilted the next morning. Totoro on the other hand eats everything as fast as he can!
Well.. The thing is are they able to mate? And yes I am going to get them fixed! I do not want baby rabbits! I hear ppl say that all calicos are girls! I dont know if that is true and i want to know because I need to get them spayed both ways, if it isnt or is.. Its confusing!! So should I seperate each one til i know cause right now they are all i one HUGE cage… :\ Please reply♥![]()
Definitely not true for rabbits. If one is male and one is female, they will mate. I would separate them. Even if they both are the same gender, until they are fixed they could be aggressive towards each other. I’ve never heard of calico Dutch rabbits either, do you have a picture of them?
Ok :\ I am scared what if they already have mated! We dont have extra cages to seperate them in!! And they are siblings!!
I there any way possible to separate them as a temporary solution? Maybe purchase an exercise pen or something? If they are 5-6 months old they have most likely reached maturity, boys around 4 months and girls around 6 months. I would take them to a vet to determine whether one of them is pregnant or not, either way they are both ready to be spayed or neutered. Have you tried figuring out their genders?
Since it is a Sunday, the veteranarian office is closed. But Monday we will schedule an appointment the clostest date possible! Thans for the Info!
And Maybe I could put one inside a carrier for 1 day.. I dont know if that would do anything tho lol ![]()
Sound like a good plan! A carrier would be too small to keep a bunny in for a day, maybe you could keep one in a bathroom or bunny proofed room?
True.. I dont have an extra room… want to see a pic of one??
Btw for Christmas I am getting A UGE indoor condo for them!!
Yes please lol
Haha lucky bunnies! I have a couple things I’m going to get my bunnies for Christmas too.
Cool
And yep They are actually living outside right now
They used to live indoors till we redid the whole inside house… you kow alot of ruckus!! lol (: The pic wont work because it say max. is 300 kb. How do i make it work?!!!![]()
Awh ): hahaha. Are you going to bring them back into the house once it’s done? Hmm usually I just resize them on my computer if they are too big. Not sure if there’s any other way to do it.
Yea we will probably bring them back in
Ad ok i will try resizing (:![]()
Please bring them in
Outside is too dangerous. even if they are in a predator proof house, it gets too cold and wet outside, and a bunny can die of fear if there is a predator nearby. And insects can be a problem too!
I know I should. My parents dont want me to tho! Please give me tipss on how to convince them to!!
Read through this site Bethany,

There are tons of reasons to keep a bunny indoors. Print out and educate yourself, then take it to your parents as a responsible pet owner, and I bet they’ll be a little more willing to listen.
Thanks so much!!
