My bunny lives in an NIC condo where the levels are covered in carpet. He has started chewing on it, so today I went out and got a bunch of cardboard and pretty fleece. I am cutting the cardboard down to size and then attaching the fleece to each piece so he has something soft to lie on. Basically, all you will see is pretty fleece flooring.

My issue is how to safely attach the fleece. I was thinking I can hot glue the fleece edges on the underside of the cardboard (so he would have to get through the fleece and several layers of cardboard to get at it). Is this okay? Any better ideas? Obviously if he’s chewing at it I’ll replace it.

All I did with mine was tape the fleece to the underside of the cardboard, and it worked for me. Made it so it was easily removed for washing too

What kind of tape did you use? I was just worried that when he digs at it the fleece will come up, he’ll start chewing at the cardboard, and it will all be a huge pain. I just can’t see tape sticking to fleece too well!

Masking tape, it stuck to it like you wouldn’t believe The tape kept the fleece on the cardboard for 8 months, and would have stayed on even longer except we took it apart when we moved the girls to a new room. The fleece was still snugly taped to the cardboard when we took it apart

Monkey, I ended up using packing (clear) tape and it worked like a charm! Thank you soooo much!! I’m so glad I didn’t use hot glue (and then be required to buy new fleece any time it needed washing).

Moxie is now in his totally safe, carpet-free, monkey and multicoloured tiger print levels <3 Or, as my bf calls it, "mutant tiger print"
