Ms. Sophie is feeling quite herself again after her spay. So much better, in fact, that a fine young buck has come inquiring after her pretty self.

They’ve gotten to touch noses while he’s in my lap, since he hasn’t read the rabbit handbook and thinks he wants to be held CONSTANTLY, but they don’t get any more than that til after his neuter, hopefully ASAP.
His vet consult pre neuter is tonight, and he needs a name! He came from the shelter with the uninspired name of Oreo. He tried to name himself Angus, but I don’t particularly like it, and he hasn’t approved of anything else I’ve come up with. I’ve started threatening to name him Megatron out of spite. ![]()
I want something kinda solid and dignified sounding, cos that’s what he is. So far I’ve vetoed Vincent, Winston, Watson, Victor, and Ahab, to show what I’ve been thinking of. He’s not that big, but I can’t believe how large he is compared to Sophie!
He’s handsome. I totally love Dutch rabbits with their cute little pants and those little masks they wear. Oh gosh, I really love all the names you vetoed :~)
How about Sherlock or Einstein?
You could go with the names of kings:
Henry, Richard, Louie, Ferdinand, Charles, Creole (that was Elvis, also a good name), Robespierre, Arthur.
Angus, Luke, Fred. Lancelot. Ishmael. Mr. Starbuck. Longfellow. Mr. Darcy.
Or the non-human names: Rockie, Moon, Shadow, Stone, Marble, Pewter.
Foods: Coke, Pepsi, Cookie, Nuts, Cashew, Eggplant, Plum, Berry, Danish.
Hmmm, my list of names I used for Otto is on my home computer, so I can’t look that up right now. I keep coming up with names, but then see that you’ve either vetoed them, or Pam has also listed them. Haha
I’ll keep thinking though! I like the general type of names you’re looking at.
DH wanted to name our guy Leviathan originally (it’s his favorite beer, and a cool name) and I said we could call him Levi for short, but we decided on Otto instead.
Thomas, Edward, Frederick. I like Ferdinand also.
How did he suggest Angus? :p You know, he might ignore what ever you settle on and always go by Angus. ![]()
Mr Starbuck! Hahaha! I love it!
Has anyone started calling him anything? My husband does this. I’m trying to come up with a name for a new pet and he will just start calling it something. Sometimes it sticks, sometimes its doesn’t. He kept trying to call Wooly (really Mr Wooly) Sweaters. Ugh.
LBJ, we did that to a friend when they brought home a new puppy. For their first dog they kept the name Chubbs that he came with (which we thought was silly – half the fun of getting a puppy is naming it! :-P) When they brought home the second one a few of us were over and we decided that Porter would be a cute name (he is dark, like porter beer). They weren’t crazy about the name but the four of us kept using it until it finally stuck. lol
Dexter, Devon
Bert, comes from the Germanic word of Bright (a dutch name)
Bram, also a dutch name
Femke, dutch name, Germanic means Peace
Gerard, dutch name, Germanic means Brave or Hardy
I am maybe blaming him a bit hard for his name; I was rattling them off, hit Angus, said no thanks, and then he was getting into something at home, and what snaps out of me? “Angus, NO!” Ugh. It suits him I think, which is why I say he chose it, but my mom says sometimes mothers have to help their babies make better choices than they’d naturally make alone.
I like Dexter from that site, and also Jasper. Opinions? He look like one of those?
Allistair, Abbott, Benson, Chadwick, Darwin, Donovan, Greyson, Jayden, Maxwell, Vander…
double-stuff?
Railey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Railey!
You may have already decided by now, but I thought I’d list a bunch. Dexter is nice, though. He does look like a Dexter.
These are a few I thought of: Roland, Duncan, Woodrow, Nash, Hopkins, Digby, Collier, Brewer, Holden, Galahad, Collin, Basil, Thorn, Bridger, Briar, Desmond, Humphrey, Bishop, Gulliver, Alexander, Potter, Kingsley/Kingston, Emmett, Dashiell, Beauchamp/Beauregard, Hector, Castor, Adonis. These are solid and dignified, I think. He’s a handsome fellow, btw! ![]()
randolph. Nice good dignified name for a handsome boy in a tuxedo.
Apollo
I like Jasper and I like the king names idea. He’s quite a handsome dutch!!!
You could go with the Dutch form of Jasper: Casper or Kasper?
Angus is a good name. ![]()
Thank you everyone! Took much scouring, and an extra day, and little boy has decided to accept Liam as an alternative. 😀
Neuter is tomorrow. Can’t come soon enough. And i thought Sophie smelled as a teenager. 😉
I love Liam! Super cute name.
Ooo good choice! Good luck with the neuter
My Wilbur has her spay tomorrow too
Sounds good to me! But I’m still partial to Mr Starbuck! LOL that would be so funny!
