I got metacam for my buns, and didnt need to mix it into anything. They went bonkers for it. I think it was banana flavor

My vet sent me home with pain meds for my girls. He will prescribe them for you. After day 3 I remember Bumble wanted nothing to do with them. I didn’t get sent home with pain meds for my males but they were back to normal the next day. I have pictures of Indybun inside his BinkyBunny box full of treats I bought for him for his recovery lol. My vet charged me 25$ for the pain meds for the girls. It wasn’t bad at all. I did freak out for my first neuter Indy, and they said I could buy pain meds but it wasn’t going to be necessary.

Looks like you got it covered. Lots of goodies to get her eating again. Alfalfa hay works wonders too, I always bought it for my spays/neuters.
Also just remember to keep her pen really clean and that litter box very clean!

Some vets don’t send home much in the way of pain meds – my vet only sends a days worth home of metacam, to be given the day after surgery. We requested an extra dose for Stickers though, just in case. Different vets use different meds, but metacam is probably the most common (our vet charges $6 per dose). Ours was banana flavored too, but I had to hold Stickers against my chest sideways (with her side against me, so her tummy wouldn’t be touched/tugged on) while boyfriend syringed it into her mouth, she was not a fan of the taste.

Lintini, lucky. My male was so much worse than my female ! It took him over a week to be back to normal, the vet had me dropper water into his mouth to keep him hydrated because he refused to drink he was feeling so bad after the neuter. Stickers was back to normal after 3 days, I had to watch her because if she got freedom she wanted to run around doing high jump binkies and I didn’t want her to break her incision open.

If your vet is good, flopsy should be FINE. Just make sure she’s comfy and has easy access to food and water, since they don’t like to move around too much right after. And clean, clean, clean. Don’t be surprised if she lays in her litter box when she gets home, so make sure that is scrubbed with vinegar before she gets home.

My vet gives 5 days worth of meds. In my opinion, they are necessary past the first day, especially for girls. It’s a full hysterectomy they are doing, it hurts!

My vet just provided a couple of days’ worth of metacam too, in some fruity flavor that all my bunnies have loooved. I’m sure Flopsy will love the applesauce too, though . Sounds like you’ve got it covered…just try to limit activities where she could hurt herself.

My male bunnies bounced back pretty quickly, but Peppy didn’t eat much until the next day and spent a lot of time laying in her litter box looking absolutely miserable:

If the vet gives metacam you don’t need to mix it. It’s very tasty (metacam describes it as a yellow viscous suspension with the odor of honey…kind of a weird description) according to most rabbits.

Also if you mix it with the applesauce you may be diluting the dosage.

I remember that Monkey was much less her grumpy self when she got spayed, the first day at least. Gotta love the pain meds.

I don’t have any of Chacha. She was at the vet for 2 days straight and I didn’t take any photos of her shaved tum tum. She would have rather killed me..

My girls shave wasn’t even noticeable unless you flipped her over, so I don’t have any pictures either – she stayed laying on her tummy too so wasn’t much of an opportunity lol

Glad she did well at her spay she’ll feel alot better without those nasty hormones telling her to do bad stuff too
