Mine:
Mango – my best guess age wise is that he is about 9 years old. I got him sometime in 2004.
Peaches & Peppermint – Well I got them in 11/2003 and I can only guess that Peaches was maybe one year old then and Peppermint was maybe 5 or 6 months old – they were strays.
Twizzler – got her in 04/2003 and well, my best guess is she is about 9 years old. She was turned into the Dallas Animal Shelter with her sister/mother/daugher (not sure what the relationship was) and their owners claimed they were about 6 weeks old, but there was no way that was true, they were full grown – people lie many times when they turn animals into shelters (I imagine they didn’t want them to be euthanized but I have no idea and saying they were younger may have put them into a better light).
I had a foster returned to me and she was adopted in 2007 and was a stray found out by a lake – I think she is probably only about 5 years old.
Bogie is still with me and I think he is about 8 or 9 years old as well. He was my friend’s who runs the guinea pig rescue and I got him when her husband was diagnosed with cancer (her husband is fine now, but I still have Bogie which is fine, he’s a good rabbit).
Bobby, I have no idea how old he is, the vet’s best estimate was that he was about 2 years old when he was dumped off at my friend’s home and I think I have now had him about a year.
Powder – got him sometime in March? this year, I have his adoption papers somewhere but can’t remember the exact date. <3 the little guy though. He's about 4 years old is the best guess the vet could give. He's from the humane society and had been stuck there for 6 months, the girl that took us to see the rabbits said people found his eyes scary so we took him home.
Stickers – Guess at her age is around 9 months now. Got her sometime in May I believe, the logs are in my email but so far back it’s hard to find. She was from craigslist – a woman who volunteers with special needs kids took her out of someones home because they were neglecting her (tiny cage, pine shavings, garbage food, childs pet and sticker glue matting her fur together). She went to craigs list to find a home and the only two people that replied were me and some guy that wanted this 4lb mini-rex as a “friend” to his 60lb dog… the lady didn’t have to think much to decide who she got to go home with!
Otto – 2.5 years old. I got him as a baby at 8 weeks, so I’ve had him almost 2.5 years (April 2009). He came from a breeder and was just the cutest little thing!
Hannah – 4.5 years old. I got her almost 1.5 years ago (April 2010). She was a Craigslist bunny – her owner loved her very much and took good care of her (got her spayed at 6 months even) but just didn’t have a consistent schedule to be home and let her out of her cage. Hannah was obviously loved and she loves people, but her little cage was way too small for her – she likes her current set up much better. I think she was also very lonely, judging by how she treated her stuffed toy and how excited she was to meet Otto – she always tried to get into his cage when she was out, though he acted like he didn’t notice her. One time she did actually sneak into his cage. Haha. Luckily I was there and shooed her out - Otto didn’t seem to care though since she wasn’t humping him yet and that’s the only thing that ever made him mad.
Oliver-10 years. Got him from a rabbit rescue in Florida when he was 3 months old. He could fit in the palm of one hand and by the time he was 6 mths, he was able to fit under CLOSED doors! still amazes me.
Meg- 7 years. She was my mom’s rabbit originally. She got her when she was about 7 months old after I moved out and took oliver with me. I think she missed having a rabbit around the house. Well when i joined the army, oliver went back to my parents while i was in boot camp. The two got attached to each other and we havn’t seperated them since. Now Meg lives with me here in washington, but we’ll keep her and ollie together.
I had my bun for only 2 months and 27 days now! I got him when he was 2 months and 20 days old, and now he is 5 months and 16 days old!
Riley will be 5-years-old in March, and I got him in April of 2007….so I’ve had him for 4 1/2 years. Wow. Time flies. He was about 6 weeks old when I got him, and fit in the palm of my hand! I find myself loving him more and more as time goes on. I’m happy to see so many people with “older” buns on here – it gives me hope that he’ll be around for many years to come!
Samantha just turned 3. I wasn’t sure of the date, but she was about 8-9 weeks old when I met her. I picked Sept. 1 for her birthday, but she clearly started celebrating on August 30th so I stand corrected. Our 3rd anniversary is this Halloween.
Spockie was 8 years old when he crossed the bridge in 2007. I had him first, was without a bunny for 10 months and then got Sammykins.
Huckleberry is about a year and a half old. We got her in March 2010.
Leopold is about 1 1/2 and Wooly is a little over a year.
We aren’t sure of Ebunny’s age. I have had her for almost a month now.
Chacha/Koucha Bun – She is a year and almost 11 months old. Her 2nd birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year, so she’ll be getting her own feast. I’ve had her since she was 7-8 weeks old. It is amazing how much she has changed since she was a little tyke…
They grow up so fast *tears up*
I got Kahlua in 2007 at 8 weeks old. So she’s four for sure now. I got Rupert in January 2008 and he was full grown but a stray-they estimated he was 1. He could likely have been anything from 8 months to what have you. So he’s at least 3 plus 1 years, and perhaps older.
Dustor was born Feb 3 of last year so he is just shy of 1 yr and 8 months
Petie was born May 23 of last year so he is 1 yr and 4 months
Milo was estimated to be about 1.5 years old when we adopted him in March 2011
Peppy looked about 6 mos. old when we adopted her around August 2010
Remy was also around 6 mos. in November 2010
Tammo was adopted as a baby in March 2008, and lived only for a short 2.5 years
.
I adopted Gabby in March of this year and the last owner said she was bought at a pet store the spring/summer of the previous year. I’m thinking she’s about a year and a half old.
I adopted Thumper in June after he picked my Gabby to be his wife at the animal shelter. He is probably around 9-10 months old.
I got Momo in January at 3 months old. She will be a year in like 1 week… Holy cow it just now dawned on me as I type this that our baby is almost one. I found some videos still on my camcorder just the other day of her as a fuzzly lil kit. ![]()

Stormy is 7 and I’ve had him since I got him at the pet store at about 3 months (at least I think that’s how old he was). Bindi is 4 and same thing, got him as a baby. I’ve had Olivia for 3 years, according to the pet store she was 1 when I got her. I wish I could have experienced “baby Olivia”.
I recorded the exact dates I adopted them on calendars that I still have somewhere. I’m very anal and I keep all my calendars which I’m glad I did now because if I ever organize my house I can find them and then know the exact dates.
Meadow: adopted 7/21/07. She was 4 months then, so that makes her about 4.5 years old now.
Max: adopted 6/6/08. He was 3 years then (maybe?) This was the rescue lady’s estimate, so that makes him about 6 years old now.
I have had rabbits for over 20 years. Blackie lived 7 years. Cassey 5 years. Whiskers 7 years. Mekki only 2 days with me didn’t realize he was sick when I bought him from a petshop. Kamdyn he is almost 5 years old now he is currently living with me. Sunshine is also going to be 5 years old soon she is currently living with me.
I got Lolli as a baby at about 2 1/2 months. She is now 3. She was born in September. I don’t remember the exact date so I decided we were going to share the same birthday – Sept 20th. lol I can’t believe she’s 3 already.
According to the pet store, Eddie was 2 months when I bought him. I’m pretty sure he was older than that. He was a little over 3 years old when he passed away.
I got Pacey when he was 7 weeks old in Oct 2008 from a man who had hand raised him and was standing outside the shelter not wanting to take him inside. He just turned 3 last month (still can’t believe that lol)
I got Dini when he was estimated 5-7 weeks old in April of this year I believe. My aunt brought him from FL where he was in deplorable conditions. He is now around 8 months old and a complete terror! =P
I got Walter from the shelter somewhere around Pacey’s birthday last year. I had no intention to bring him home but Pacey loved him and would mope at me when we would come home. He passed away on Feb. 9th of this year.
Marshmallow was Pacey’s first bonding mate. She came from the shelter in Aug 09 when she was almost 2. She was severely overweight and it took a lot of work to wean her from chips and ice cream she hated hay for a long time. She fell in love with my mom and began attacking me and Pacey every chance she got so I let my mother have her who in turn did the one thing I asked her not to and gave her away. But Marshmallow is extremely happy now she lives with an older woman and has 2 playmates now.
I got Mr. Bunny in on November 20th, 2008. He was probably about six months to a year old when I got him, which would make him about 3.5 to 4 years old now. It’s hard to believe I’ve had him for almost three years!
I got Ms. Rabbit on September 22nd, 2010. She was no older than six months old when I got her. She just had her first “bunniversary” a week ago, so she’s probably about 1.5 years old now.
Mimzy came to us in May/June of 2007. By the time his ears fully lopped about a month later, we’d figured him for a discarded Easter Bunny, probably 3 to 4 months, but now judging by how much he’s slowed down and mellowed, we’re thinking he could have been more like 6 months to a year old when we found him. Apparently a Holland’s ears vary greatly when it comes to lopping and is not reliable when determining maturity. On July 16th we marked 4 wonderful years with him.
December 2007 saw my daughter batting eyelashes at her dad to bring home Pip from the pet store. Poor bun had been in that glass tank all summer and she couldn’t stand her not having a home by Christmas (literally the week of). I estimated her at least a 6 monther that summer as we watched all her roommates get adopted around her. For a bunny that was the ‘last picked’ she has the best temperament. I guess people just wanted the ‘pretty colored’ bunnies that were more than just tan and white. Over the last four years, she’s sprouted some unusual darker tick marks and her white ‘spectacles’ and underbelly/toe fluffies have gotten more prominent. She is probably 4-5 years, like Mimz.
August 2008 found me back at the pet store for supplies when my daughter tapped me and said, ‘Mom, there’s a BUN back there’…pointing to a back corner behind the Halloween costumes. A forlorn looking mini rex was seeming to be peering at us hopefully from a tiny cage all alone. I already had my ‘we can’t take anymore on’ face, but she was determined and after getting his sad story from the saleslady I tried my best to get this skittish baby to let me hold him. He went surpringly well into the crook of my arm and shivered. I was fatally smitten and when dad came back from the grocery, my daughter when out armed with her activist’s argument to plead his case. He was Fiver before we left the store. When my vet looked him over a month later she was pretty sure he was barely a year and neutered too young. His Gotcha Day is officially August 20, but I think he was born October 2007 or thereabouts.
They will most likely be my only bunnies, and the work to keep them happy has been monumental, but I wouldn’t trade a moment. Four years has gone far too quickly.
I’m so new to this! I’ve had Harvey for 3 1/2 months now. I have NO idea how old he is, and neither does the vet, aside from “adult”. He’s probably somewhere between 2 and 10. Jackie has only lived here for a month, and i’m thinking (hoping) she’s 7 months or so. Ahhh, teenage girls. I think that teenage girls are no different across species…..
liam and bella…ahhh the cuties that have stolen my heart..liam the holland lop..is 4 months.. and bella the mini satin is four months…..they are sweet and bossy…..both its true…
