Powder is about 4 years old, male, neutered and has had over a month to heal/let his hormones settle.
Stickers is about 8 months old, female, spayed and has had over 2 months to let her hormones settle.
I have been doing daily bonding sessions in a neutral territory trying to get them to bond. But… ALL Powder is interested in is mounting her. Constantly. Non-stop. It’s been four days now and there is no sign of it lessening. She HATES it, to the point of making pitiful little crying noises when he does it because he just won’t stop. I tried petting them both, she likes the pets but he has no interest and just wiggles to get away and get on her. I tried offering them both their favorite treats, again he ignores it and just goes for her. I tried stopping him, since she hates it so much, but in order to get him to stop for more than half a second I have to remove her. She will STAND and ask to be picked up, which normally to pick her up is a hassle and I have to chase her down, but she meekly comes to me to get away from him.
She has tried asking for grooming, she completely submits to him, there is zero aggression. All Powder does in response though is mount her and go on and on and on for however long the bonding session is. He won’t let her eat, he won’t let her drink, he won’t let her move, so I can’t make them even very long. Even the vacuum cleaner, which he usually is scared to death of, doesn’t effect him when she’s around.
