It will vary by state and location. I’ve heard of $65 before.

When I adopted my last bun Hershey, I took him for a checkup and it cost $70. I live in Northern California.

my cost for the vet is only $42. I live in PA

My vet charges $40 just to look at them. That doesn’t include anything else.

 I paid $80 for just a health check-up, but I’m starting to think I was over-charged.  I’m in northern Utah.

I have two vets- one on the western side of Washington and one on the eastern side of Washington (where I am now). The one from W. Wa is $35 and the one from E. Wa is $52. I don’t think there is any particular difference as far as quality goes, in fact I trust the vet in W. Wa a bit more and have a better relationship with him.

Depends; my clinic charges 75$ if you walk in the door. My vet is awesome and only charges 50$ for a “follow up checkup” ; or if we do anything like bloodwork then only for what was done and no charge for the exam. They are a high mid level clinic for price-it’s worth it because xrays and blood are done on site and my vet is just as neurotic as I am   She’s being nice and cutting me slack; perhaps ‘vet airmiles’ lol

In general I can get a ‘checkup’ for no cost if we go in for anything else. For instance my dog sees the vet twice a year-once for vaccinations and once for worming pill prescriptions-he gets a full workup both times but they don’t charge for that-just what we are in for. So that works too
Also my vet does two for one-bring in a bonded pair, a concern for one and she’ll check both and do an hour with us and only charge one exam.

All in all it’s the other costs that add up-meds or xrays-xrays at my clinic are insane at 275 when other clinics are 30….I know it includes sedation and monitoring and real care that I trust..but WOW that’s a dent.

So yeah I guess my point is you can’t bank on the cost, but do make friends at a clinic you trust; save up and plan your visits  

I called around to 5 rabbit vets in the my area (east valley Phoenix, AZ) and it ranged from $50-$70

My clinic has two rabbit vets, one board certified, they charge $46 and $49 for a general health check up. Located in Southern CA.

If we are just going in for a check-up and bunny is not exhibiting any problems, the vets do almost what they do for a human checkup. They check heart, lungs, ears, eyes, nose, use something to check the teeth, take temperature, feel the stomach area, turn bunny over and check all over. If we don’t have anything to say about symptoms, the vets ask about diet, living conditions etc. We have not had to take Bublebunny in for anything other than check-ups so we have not had to deal with any other procedures. They usually take 15-20 minutes.

My vet charged about $60-ish at our visit in April. They charge that for all exotic and avian visits and their clinic is one of the best. I have taken my reptiles to a different exotic vet before I found this place and the charge was about the same. This is in the Detroit Metro area of MI.

I think my initial one was $80 which was a total baseline exam and some blood work to test for some basic conditions that you want to know is or is not there. (Might manifest later so the vet will be alert during future exams.) After that I tend to go to the vet with a specific reason, even if it’s a nail trim, and ask what they will charge to do an overall check up over and above the reason I am going. But I am on a tight budget, so I don’t take her in as often as I probably should since she appears to be very healthy. $35 is OK. $50 would not surprise me.

An average nail trim without an exam will be around $12.

Just an exam, $85, which looked like the same thing the volunteers do at bunny adoption events when they clip bunny nails.

I think it’s always a good idea to do a stool sample when you first get a rabbit, since they’re most likely to have a problem when they’re around other rabbits. Once they’ve lived with you for a while with no contact to other rabbits, there’s minimal chance that they caught a new parasite. Since he’s never been tested before, I would do it, I think.

My old vet charged about $90 for a yearly checkup. I haven’t found a vet in my new area, so I’m not sure of the prices yet.

My vet does a through check with her hands. She often comments on muscle tone, how the organs feel and lymph nodes, and bones. She found Kahlua had larger than normal lymph nodes, and Noot had to pee, and Mikey has an old injury in his back leg. From other exams we’ve had in e-clinics, I think most vets can and do this check up (touch check up? I don’t know what you’d call it)
While she does that we talk about everything, concerns and she asks questions and gives advice.
Then it’s eyes, ears and teeth checked with that light scope, perineal area is checked and feet.
That’s about it if we aren’t in for a specific concern
