What are your thoughts on using a noise maker to deter chasing/fur pulling/biting?

I’m going to try a bell or something else noisy because Bindi keeps chasing Storm and grabbing butt fur. I don’t like the idea of putting them in a basket and “stressing” them because I feel this is unfair to Storm and he’s already stressed out by the chasing.

How about using the vacuum cleaner or are they used to that or clapping loudly. It’s definitely worth trying.

I think Stormy needs to learn not to run :~) that leads Bindi to chasing him. I think it’s just instinct of course to run and it’s instinct for Bindi to chase once Stormy starts running. Try hard not to put fairness into the mix if you can because you are emoting your feeling of unfairness because it upsets you.

I used a jar full of coins that I shook when any haughtiness happened during bonding. It was startling at first, but then they realized that noise doesn’t hurt so they ignored it. Lol. You could try getting a heavy blanket to throw over Bindi. It wouldnt hurt either of them and it just stops them in their tracks.
You may be able to redirect Bindi… Does she have a favorite treat? I stopped bonding my rabbits a while ago because I just don’t think it will work… At least not yet. BUT their favorite treats are dried pineapple. I keep them in a little jar that makes a “pop” sound when I open the lid and they respond to that regardless of what they are doing. You could try that with Bindi, but rather than just handing her the treat, make her follow it. Walk around with it just over her nose for a few seconds. It will take her mind off of Stormy and perhaps satisfy that chasing instinct. Does any of that make sense? I’m sitting in math and only partially paying attention so if this seems scattered, that’s why. lol

Thanks for the advice. I agree, Sarita. I keep telling Stormy to stick up for himself. It’s gotten to the point where as soon as Bindi approaches, Stormy will run away. If he’s on the litter box and Bindi comes over he will jump over Bindi to get out of the way. It’s frustrating that I can’t make him stand up for himself.

Tate, I might try the “re-directing” method. I know he’s got a bit of a girly name but Bindi Loo is all man.

I agree, he needs to learn to not run. Shrink the area you do sessions in, so they can’t run and chase. Bunnies don’t understand the whole “fair” concept

Ohmygosh, I’m so so dumb. Sorry! I don’t know how many times I’ve read your posts on the forums, but I should definitely know by now. Lol. I always think if Steve Irwin’s daughter, Bindi. Haha. Send my apologies to Bindi.
