Recap real fast: Ollie’s ‘home’ is a dog crate, just tall enough that when she fully stretches against it, her nose is about a centimeter away from the top of the cage. I keep a blanket over the top, back, and two sides, so it’s ‘den-like’ (we’ve always had dogs….) Ollie LOVES LOVES LOVES her graham-cracker rewards (discovered she loves them when I made s’mores and she stole one from me). I don’t give them frequently, and when I do, it’s small amounts, but she goes nuts for them. I keep them on top of her cage, with her other treats and feed.

She had her free-time the other day, and was having a grand time chasing the cat and my brother (those two are funny together. ) I wandered out to the kitchen to refill my coffee and swap out landry, and on my way back to my room, heard a weird crinkling noise. I turn the corner, and she had shoved an empty shoe box (which she NEVER showed ANY interest in before!!) over up against the cage, and had, I assume, stood on it to pull down her graham crackers.

She was a happy, happy little piglet of a bunny!!  I took them away, to the tune of much thumping, ear flapping and bunny-butt. I was just impressed she did this!! What silly little critters!

Graham crackers = not good for buns. If you want to give treats, give some fresh or dried fruit, or Oxbow treats, not processed crackers.

I’m happy to have a rabbit who likes to inspect my food, but runs away, footflicking in disgust.

Graham crackers are definitely not very good for rabbits. I stay with Oxbow’s Simple Rewards Cranberry-Rosemary mix, along with craisins. I alternate between the two.
