  I spend $7 to $8 dollars on my rabbit each month!
  
  $2.50 pellets each month
  
  $2.00 on hay
  
  $2.00 on litter(huge bag)
  
  A few dollars on vegies
  
  Treats really do vary
  
  But in the begginning my dad spent a lot!
  
  I found a neuter play, Paws Spay and Neuter Clinic that neuters rabbits for $70(used to be $60, but they raised there price) They are friendly and really do spend time to talk with you and they answer the questions right, and told me not to neuter my rabbit at too young at age but my rabbit 4 and a half months about and she said that is a great age to neuter!

  What brand of hay and pellets to you use? Brands are cheaper then others, but most cheap brand are not very good quality.

  Hay can be cheap if you find a place that sells bales (farms, feed stores etc) that your rabbit will take. Pellets aren’t that much. Litter if yours will take wood stove is also cheap. But, the veggie amount is a bit worrisome. Do you have a garden? Or some other way of getting free vegs? If not, how much veggies do you give them?

  I buy a bag of pellet thats $10 dollars(5 pounds)! feed him 1/8 pellets each day. The timothy hay from petsmart! They really cram a bunch of hay in there, it lasts him like 2 and a half months and vegetables, I just started feeding him veggies, so far, lettuce(leafy green) 3/4 cup, recommended by the Colorado Rabbit Society!

  Do you free feed him hay? The petsmart here only has small bags of hay, lasts maybe a few weeks for either of my bunnies. o.O with that little vegs and pellets, would think he would eat more hay.
  
  I spend about $100 a month and mostly just on food. lol

  3/4 of a cup? My buns would kill me if I gave them that little i would suggest upping the veggie quantity, slowly to not upset his tummy.

  My 4 lb dwarf gets 3-4 leaves of romaine, a small handful of cilantro. Sometimes even a little more.

  My two each get 2-3 leaves of either romaine, green leaf or red leaf lettuce nightly. They also get cilantro or parsley bunch divided between them and my 3 guinea pigs. As well as 1 cherry tomato, 1 baby carrot and 2-3 slices of bell pepper for each nightly. They get either banana, grape or apple snack a couple of times a week. Brocoli fed about once a week too.

  i will higher his vegies then, 1 cup? 2 big leaves of kale, or lettuce(not iceburge), or spinach, or boc choy. my rabbit is 3 pounds, he doesn’t eat that much! (But he loves his pellets too much!) Do you know of any type of brand pellets that won’t cost a lot! JUst plain pellets please(one that your rabbit love)
  
  I give my rabbit like two to 4 servings of hay each day! He is starting to eat a lot now! We go to ranch 99 for vegies. His stomach is so weird, I gave him vegies 3/4 cup for the first time, he had not one stomach upset, and when I instantly gave him different pellet cause I didn’t know what the breeder gave him, he didn’t have any diarrea or anything, do your rabbit have stomachs like this.

  Hay should be free fed and available at all times, not in servings. They need the foraging for their digestion and teeth and they won’t get fat off hay unless it’s alfalfa.

  Starting off with little veggies is good for a young rabbit. You will want to introduce new veggies one at a time (make sure it doesn’t make him sick) and then as he gets older increase the veggies to ~1 C per 2lbs of bunny. How much does your bunny weigh? Young bunnies (under 6mos) should get more pellets, then reduce to ~1/8 to 1/4 C depending on their size.
  
  I don’t think 4 1/2 months is too young to neuter. It really depends on their size and how comfortable the vet is with the procedure.

  oh Iwayne, I must have typed something wrong, she said 4 and a half months is a great age to neuter.

  Boys should be fixed around 4 months, girls around 6 months. Have you set up an appointment yet?

  Yes I have! September 19! ITs coming up soon! found one that neuters for only $70 dollars, they answered all the questions right, was super nice, and got good ratings!

  To answer your question about what brand of pellets: My bunnies LOVE oxbow timothy pellets! They go crazy over them! Oxbow is also one of the healthiest brands! I would go with oxbow, even though it can be a little pricy, its worth it. Sense she is only 3lbs, she doesn’t need much pellets so 1 bag would last you awhile.

  Oxbow Bunny Basics/T is the brand for adult rabbits, and you can start them on it at any age.
  In the northeast US Big Red Rabbit Food is a very good brand, too.
  
  If you invest in a very large bag (especially with the Oxbow) you will pay more but it can last up to 3 months. It’s heavy, but if kept closed daily will stay good. And if you compare the unit price, it usually costs much less per lb. to buy a big bag, ie. bulk, than to keep buying the smaller ones. If you’re ordering anything from BB’s store, she sells it, and combining items in an order can be the same shipping cost anyway so sometimes it’s worth it to have it delivered to your door.
