Once again another report of rabbits being stolen from gardens in the Ratcliffe area of  Bury, near Manchester.

Please take all precautions to ensure that garden gates are securely bolted, fences are secure, wendy houses and sheds that house your bunnies have adequate locks.  Thieves will attempt to remove the hutch if it is an easy option.

Plan now for the future….Grow prickly plants – Pyracantha ( Firethorn)  It is a popular wall shrub, and  is a quick growing bush with spiny stems.  Gardening experts advise that you should use gloves when pruning so a good deterrent to any intruder

Berberis are easy to grow and will thrive in any soil.  They are all spiny to some degree.

Raise your fences with trellis.  No intruder should attempt to scale a fence topped with trellis for fear of collapse.  Even if there is no risk to your livestock, intruders will be put off attempting to steal from your property if these simple rules are observed

This is awful. I don’t really even want to imagine what they steal them for…I can imagine what it is.
