  My 1 year old bunny Toby ,Male. I dont know wether he is ill because he is always breathing heavily, i cant hear it but his nose is always going fast and his tummy is sometimes hard, sometimes soft, it changes and i heard about blaot in a rabbit book it can be swelling , hard or caved in ect. and he has signs of it alot of the time , about 70% of the time his tummy is how it would be in bloat but sometimes it changes, its never just hard, just soft, ect. its changing constantly , it sometimes changes before/after food or before/after excersize, he is abit tubby . he’s a lop ear, i think a holland lop and he it worry’s me because he’s not as energetic as my other buns but he still can run and binky but probably only once a week , he’s neuterd and he was baught from a pet store i dont think takes care of rabbits propery and i think he was underaged to be there, anyway At the vets i was picking up my cat and while i was there i mentioned it and she said aslong as he is eating,drinking and pooping its fine, he is pooping ,drinking and eating fine . Im not sure what is up with him and its worrying. IM SO STRESSED ABOUT IT !

  Well rabbits do breath rapidly. As for the stomach – are you certain you are feeling the stomach? Vet’s really have to palpate and feel pretty heavily the stomach area so I’m wondering if you are actually feeling the stomach. If your bunny has bloat you would know and he would have to see a vet right away.
  
  When was the last time you took him to the vet for a physical check up? If it’s been awhile I would suggest you do that if you have concerns and discuss this with the vet. Have the vet show you how to palpate his stomach so you know how a normal stomach should feel.

  It’s changes not any one thing that you should look for. Changes in normal behavior, coat, eye, skin etc-are your indicators for illness. They are such individuals that what one does is not what another one will. For instance, Kahlua has large lymph nodes…so if I were to take her to a vet that didn’t know her they may think she’s fighting an infection, but really that’s just her. A change in the size would be an indication but not their size in general.
  
  Or Rupert-some people may think he’s comatose or ill, but really-he just likes to eat while laying down he’s sooo lazy And that’s normal for him. So it all depends on what is normal for your bunny.
  
  I definitely agree with the vet that as long as he’s eating and pooping he’s probably fine, however if what you listed is a change then there could be cause for concern…perhaps a checkup is in order. They should have an annual exam at any rate so it wouldn’t hurt and may reduce your stress.
