So, the last week or so, he has decided he likes lounging in his litter box.  Literally, plops right down.  Whats this behavior about???  I know I bought him a new rug to go underneath the xpen, cheap 20 area rug, I was thinking maybe he doesnt like the feel of it.  However when I let him out, I have these two boxes set up, he really like them.  He goes into one to lounge there.  Im thinking there is a correlation between the two, and the smooth surface.

What do you think?  Is it the surfacing?  Is it just coincidence and he just likes sleeping around in his own excrement??

Buns like to lounge in their litter boxes, that is why they like the large cat boxes – room to stretch out. But yes if he dislikes the flooring that could be a reason too if it is new behavior. When I first got my mini rex she was in the litter box and used it as a bed more than a toilet… apparently the care fresh was super comfy. lol

All 4 of my bunnies like to lounge in their litter boxes. Nothing wrong with it

Maybe I’ll try putting a towel down in one spot, and see if he moves to the towel, I’ve also set up a box similar to the one he lays in out side the pen. So if he continues to lounge around in the litter, then I guess its just what he does. lol.
