I don’t want to get in trouble for having my first post as a strong recommendation…BUT…I adopted my dwarf bunny from NY AC&C on East 110th Street. I promised them I would take him to a specialized vet within a few days and they provided some good recommendations.
IF you live near or around the UES, I can’t endorse Dr Anthony Pilny enough….I can’t speak to his price on neutering, as my rabbit was already neutered before I got him, but Dr Pilny does tons of volunteer work for the shelter and is known for his expertise in small animals, exotics. He cares a great deal for rabbits and fosters several in his own office. If he isn’t in your ballpark, I would bet he can give you info on who can help.
We go every 6-8 weeks to have Kelsey’s nails clipped (mani/pedi) and the DR does that himself—not interns, etc. I couldn’t be happier with the recommendation I received and I feel confident passing that on to you.
(Just to be clear—I am new here—have been reading for months and following the “site update” estimates, which have gone longer than anticipated…wanted to join sooner, but kept waiting for site to be ready so I could upload photos, etc….)
I know there are other qualified vets in the Manhattan area…in fact, the document linked is the *exact* document I got when I adopted and I know the shelter stands behind every doctor on that list so dial around!! I chose Dr Pilny because he is close to my home and I have had nothing but positive experiences…and I have met others within my immediate area who are also his clients, with great reviews so I pass that along with confidence.
Best of luck to you and your new bunnies!!
