I think that would be the Netherland Dwarfs, starting at 1.1 lbs. But I’ve heard of 1.5 lbs Lionheads, too, and mini rexes are also small.

I think Netherland Dwarf as well. One of my Nethie’s weigh about 1.5lb and he’s almost 8 months.

Polish, Brittania Petite and Dwarf Hotot are small breeds too; all of them grow to be 2-3 pounds at the largest.

Most nethies are between 2 and 2.5 lbs, lionheads under 4lbs, Polish are 2.5 to 3.5 lbs usually, and Dwarf Hotot are usually under 3 lbs.

You often hear about them being smaller, often that is a person estimating the weight but not actually knowing it

My netherland dwarf though, she is the smallest adult bun my vet treats at 1.5 lbs, she very tiny. She was the runt of the litter, all her siblings got to be easily a pound heavier.

But yes, nethies are the smallest domestic breed

Thanks all. I was just curious cuz it seems I find info and see posts about the largest but never the smallest.

My silver marten dwarf just turned 3 and he weighs a smidge under three pounds…..I have seen some LARGE rabbits at the shelter (around 14 pounds!) Kelsey is fully matured and likely won’t gain more weight unless his exercise decreases dramatically.
