He just got out of surgery and he did fine – now they’re just waiting for the drugs to wear off and monitoring him for the rest of the day, another 5 hours without my little snuggle bun at home! House just isn’t the same without him zooming all over the living room while I feed the bird his breakfast 😮

Stickers says she likes it better this way – she gets to come out to play in the living room when he’s gone (I usually let her out when he takes his nap in the afternoon) – she came out and stood on her legs to search the room, then thumped in a quite satisfied manner to let us know the room is now hers, now she’s off to cause mayhem and trouble. lol

Checking his surgery area should be easy, he’s a very laid back little boy – Stickers would stand up for me, but Powder doesn’t stand up for much (pretty much only when I brought Stickers home he stood up to sniff her cage) but he doesn’t mind being picked up. Medicine might be tricky, but it’s banana flavored… and if the little picky princess can handle it I’m sure he can too.

Ride home he was fidgeting like he was uncomfy (understandably, road work…yay), now he’s loaf style behind my chair … he never lays there, I guess he just wants to be near me cause he doesn’t feel good <3

He ate an entire hand full of greens for me only 3 hours after coming home then he went to put his erm, sore parts up against the A/C vent (it’s a wall vent) and laid there for like an hour with the a/c blowing on full o.O I don’t get how he doesn’t freeze doing that lol

He’s moving around a little and still eating his greens (I put water on them this morning) but he has so far refused water – it’s been about 24 hours since he last had water now besides what he got off the greens. I bought apple juice (unsweetened) to try to entice him to drink some but he refused that too. I called the vet back and they’re supposed to call us when done with the current patient.

He’s had 2 handfuls of greens and 1 nibble of hay since he got home, but I am worried about the lack of water. Stickers would drink if I held the bowl to her face.

I am wetting the greens before I give them to him, he isn’t too thrilled to eat unless I hand them to him one at a time or stick them under his nose, but he’s eating. He had a little bit of orchard grass hay too. The vet called me back and said if he isn’t drinking by the end of the day put a little bit into his mouth with a dropper and see if it will spark his interest in liquid and that if he isn’t drinking normally by Monday he wants to see him.

Well, 36 hours since he last had water besides what he gets out of his greens – he did eat another small batch of greens with water on them though and we got a little in his mouth with the dropper. He’s also excessively grooming, about 5x the normal amount of grooming. He ran around a bit though and ate a little hay, some grass and nibbled on cardboard though, so he’s a little active.

How long can he go on just what he gets from wet greens?

This morning he refused water again – but he was hanging out by Stickers through the baby gate so I took his water bottle (which he hasn’t used in months since he prefers a bowl) and hung it up on the gate between them. They licked noses and sniffed each other a bit and then he drank from the bottle and Stickers sat and watched him drink, then went to have her breakfast after he was done. Good influence from the girl I guess. o.O
