  I currently have a bonded trio of Netherland Dwarfs that do EVERYTHING together. They eat, sleep, play, lounge, drink; I mean everything! One doesn’t move without the other two. They are a joy to watch. I was wondering if it would upset the dynamic if there was a 4th bunny added. I love Netherlands and there is one at a rescue which is up for adoption. I appreciate all opinions/thoughts. Thanks. Oh, I forgot to add that they are 2 males and 1 female and I swear Peanut (female) runs the show!

  Your trio sounds completely adorable! Is there pictures of them somewhere?!
  
  I’m not surprised Peanut is the leader in your group. The girls often are. I think if you were to bring in another it would have to be a submissive male or female for it to work I’m guessing. I also think it could definitely change the dynamic so there is that risk. You might end up with a group but some of them pair off within the group OR your oringinal 3 and the newbie not quite intergrated. i.e. in the group but on the outside a bit. There is lots of scenarios I guess, even a new one intergrating well but one of your current rabbits being ostricised somewhat. It could take some work.
  
  Having said all that, I have a friend who adds rabbits into her group with little trouble so…. I think if you’re keen to adopt this rabbit, take him on a trial basis and see how your trio reacts to him. I’d be too nervous to try it but I’d love to hear if it was a success for you!

  Thanks Jerseygirl! I have tons of pics of them, but finding it hard to upload so I changed my avatar so you can see them. Peanut is the white bunny on the right, Mr. Bean on the left and Hershey in the back. They are doing what they do best…eating! After some thought I’ve decided not to to add a 4th bunny to the mix. They are the best of friends and I don’t want to upset that arrangement.

  I think it’s probably a good idea to just keep the 3, not knowing how the dynamic would change. Don’t you just want to save all the shelter bunnies though . Love Peanut with her little black nosy, I just want to kiss her . Is Mr. Bean really a black otter? He just looks black to me. I wish we could load pictures.

  Bunnies4ever, happy to hear you came to a decision. They are as adorable as I suspected. I spy a little himalayan marked bunny like Lintini’s Bun too! I’m guessing Hershey is the chocolate one that was your avatar picture before?

  Actually Mr. Bean is brown. You can’t tell from the pic, but his chest is a caramel color and the rest of him is brown which is why the rescue named him Mr. Bean. He’s the color of a coffee bean. He does resemble a black otter though just different color. The rescue told me he was a netherland dwarf and I went with that. Peanut is adorable, I just love her ears, they are so small and fuzzy! When I first brought her home, she would run and hide and hated being picked up. Now, I can pick her up and stroke her cute little ears! She just looks at me like “mom, really…enough!”

  Hi Jerseygirl, yes, that was Hershey! It was picture day for him. He was sitting in his little chair.

  I see that the nose is a creme like color. is the back of his head a tan or a white color? Black otter isn’t a breed type, but a coloring type… like my bunny. He looks black in the photo, and teh bunny in the far back looks brown.. pictures please *stick poke poke poke*

  Very cute crowd. You could always give the new bunny a shot. I’d imagine the worst that would happen is that it would take a very long time for them to bond.
