Over the past few weeks me and my new buns have spent some time bonding and getting to know each other, and Jennifer loves to dig in the blankets on the bed, so I figured she would probably benefit from a dig box for some enrichment.  What do you use for dig boxes? Cardboard boxes? And what do you guys put in yours? Thanks!

I have a large box with a hole on the top on the side of the box. There’s a ramp leading up to it so they can access the hole. Inside the box, there’s wadded up paper. To encourage going in, I sprinkle pellets inside. They have to work for their pellets.

Minnies favorite is a hay dig box though it also doubled as a litter pan so I had to use a big plastic storage container. I first tried with a cardboard box and it made a huge mess.
miaeih, I love that idea. I will have to try that.

I have a cardboard box and bought all natural shredded paper meant for basket fill and put it in the box for Bun-Bun. He likes to hop in and out and dig and peek out of the shredded paper. It was cheap and easy. 67 cents for box from Home Depot and $2 at Dollar Tree for 2 bags of the shredded paper. When it gets destroyed….. I can replace cheaply. And the best part, I close the box lids and tuck it behind chair in corner when it is not in use.

My husband cut holes in both ends of a cardboard box, put the lid back on, stuffed it full of ripped-up newspaper, flipped it upside down and let our bunny go to town. Flopsy likes to crawl inside, dig around for a little bit and then go to sleep in it.

Hey, can some of ya’s post up some pictures of your dig boxes? I’d like to get kind of a visual on them so I can come up with something for mine. Thank you.
