My friend, Randy, has just started his rescue and has gotten to an overwhelming point when one of his girls who was recovering from spay surgery tried to jump out of her pen. She may have gotten hung up and broken her back. Her name is Madison and she is still at the vet’s office in Modesto, CA.
Madison was one of 33 bunnies that came from a family that irresponsibly let two “easter” bunnies breed. By the time Randy got there he had to deal with 2 pregnant females and one little that was just a couple of weeks old along with possibly two litters of juveniles. A few days after getting them settled in his home the other female gave birth to a litter of 9 babies. It made him very upset to take in the original mother rabbit and have her litter aborted so she could be spayed. Add these bunnies to the 16 that Randy already had and you can see why he is not able to deal with a disabled rabbit and care for the rest.
Randy has had 4 rabbits that were taken by other rescues but it is not enough. He works a full-time job and has made arrangements with his vet to spay and neuter all of the babies. That is going to cost a lot. He is not complaining and is determined to get them all done without any other mishaps.
Is there anyone who can help Randy with this little girl? Madison is half agouti of unknown breed and half Dwarf Hotot. The mother is an agouti and the father is a Hotot.
