When Gabby came to us she would let us pet her forehead sometimes but liked to do her own thing. When she met Thumper and approved of him his personality turned out completely different than her’s. If you call his name here he comes. You can pet him almost any time without it seeming to bother him. Then he’s off again to play some more or snuggle with Gabs.

When I’m in the kitchen he will come up and beep my ankle or leg with his face. I love when he does it. Then Gabby figured out that num nums come from the kitchen so when he comes up to beep my ankle here Gabs comes too. If anyone opens the fridge they both come running now. I have to watch Thumper because he will step up on the fridge bottom to see what’s being served.

I don’t feed them every time I go in there but you can’t tell it by how they react when I walk in there. My daugher loves to give them their nightly raisin treats while she sits in the floor because they try to climb her body to get them. It’s really cute to watch.

So does anyone else have pitiful beggars of num nums?

Hogeeze…how much time have you got? lol…

Mimzy has a characteristic nom begging routine where he tears at the bars of his night hab with his forepaws, then wraps his lips and teeth around them and sticks his tongue out and wags it at me. It’s completely irresistible.
Pip goes insane if you mention the word ‘cookie.’ Furious and pitiful begging face and pose, straining to reach you on her back paws ensues until she gets what she wants…then it’s off to find a private place to chew and swallow in peace. If you so much as try to pet her during this time you get one stinkeye warning and then it’ll be a good nip if you don’t back off.
I think both she and Mimz will grab their pen bars with their teeth and shake them till the whole habitat sounds like it’s being hit by a 9.0 quake.

Fiver is the only one who doesn’t really beg or make noise for anything…with the exception of when I used to feed him canned pumpkin each night and he would begin a frenzy of spinning in circles at the sound of the fridge opening, then as soon as you arrive at his door, wait until you put it down and then would slurp it up while his back fur twitched in delight. I never got it on video and now he isn’t allowed it anymore since he’s been on a hay only diet.
