our new place has desert cottontails and quail running all around the neighborhood every morning and evening. there is no shortage for whenever i want to get my find-a-new-bunny fix. the weird thing is, i put out a carrot one night,, they didnt touch it,, perhaps they dont know what it is because they’ve never seen one before. the next day i went out and the carrot was still whole, but all shriveled up and dried out. thats what 115 degrees with 2% humidity will do i guess.

you’d never think a bunny could scale up a near vertical 8-foot wall of rock in my backyard, but they do it like it was nothing. these guys must have kevlar pads on their feet the way they take off across the rough terrain.

Such cute little guys! I wouldn’t have thought there would be so many bunnies and birds running around the desert. What state are you in? Arizona?

Ahhh! We have a little female Cottontail that lives under my neighbors deck (she had babies not too long ago!). We were in the front yard a few nights ago and I could feel something staring at me. There she was a about 15 ft from just watching me. I heart bunnies!!

They’re so cute! Very differently-shaped than the bunnies we have around here.

I hope they are all very traffic savvy! Nothing makes me sadder than seeing a rabbit lying on the road.

Beautiful scenery in your neighborhood. I would love to see the desert states. Maybe not in the summer though!

the quail have discovered out backyard too.. there is a little grassy area about 12′ long next to the pool. but by the time i ran to get the camera, they already hopped up the wall to escape me. to get out of our subdivision you have to drive half a mile, but buns would never want to leave it cause there is a golf course at the end of our street
