Okay, so, as you know, I’m in the pre-bonding stage with my bunnies. Lately I have been leaving both potties out when each rabbit gets out to run around. So far it has been going well. They use each other’s and eat out of them. Yesterday, I had something happen I have never seen before. Esmeralda went over to Marge’s potty and started eating some of the poop in it. () Suddenly I started hearing a weird noise. It wound up being Esmeralda making a pleasent grunting noise while eating the stuff from Marge’s potty. (It sounded like a door in need of some oil). Then Marge did the exact same thing with Esmeralda’s potty later when she was out. I almost freaked out because they have never done anything like that before or grunting in pleasure and they both did it in the same day!

        Does it mean anything?

It could mean they are getting used to each other’s scent and possibly having the smell and their personal items around. Maybe; I’m not sure as I am not bonding my rabbits until they are spayed — not much pre-bonding going on either, other than having their cages close by and them sharing a common individual play area and toys.
